2 new IPL franchise
if they are going to add 2 new franchise, who would be those ? one would be ahmedabad and i cant think of any other place. ahmedabad has good crowd, corporate culture and good cricket players. from south all 3 cities are filled. from north we have rajasthan, punjab and delhi. from east we have bengal. whereelse ? nagpur ? cuttuk ? gwallior ? these are all small towns

Re: 2 new IPL franchise
If you add 2 new franchines, the number of league games will grow from 56 to 90......

Not manageable unless split into 2 divisions(I actually think this is better)....

How about REDUCING 2 franchises to get a manageable league phase and get better quality?

anathD....they will play only one round in the league, that makes more sense.

which means 45 games

and choosing top 4 from 10 makes more sense for semis than 4 out of 8

I always wondered how Rajasthan(Jaipur) came into picture (even Mohali). If we consider the biggest cities in India by population, it would be :-

Mumbai
Delhi
Kolkata
Chennai
Hyderabad (or Bangalore)
Bangalore (or Hyderabad)
Ahmedabad/Pune?
Ahmedabad/Pune?
