Can Harsha please shut up!
Man..Today's match with KKR vs Deccan was too much even for Harsha's standards..The non-stop chatter had my ears pounding..I was torn between muting the sound and listening to the atmosphere in the stadium..Probably the most irritating commentator in the world today! He just goes on and on speaking a 1000 words per minute every second he gets. Does anyone know if he is paid by the number of words he speaks??He sounds like one of the guys who loves to hear his own voice..My ears are still buzzing. It reached a point where I was relieved to switch off from hearing him than the exciting match result. It almost seems like he is compelled to offer an opinion abt every single incident. and make the most irritating quotes dime a second.

quite agree -- it's soooo refreshing when he is off -- imo, i really think he loves the cliches that he is so fond of and the exaggerations -- omg.

Off break, doosra, yorker, googly, straight drive, sweep, square cut, late cut ... I love them all.

Far too many TV commentators these days forget the old maxim that they are there to add to what's on the screen and shouldn't tell the viewers what they can see for themselves.

TV sports commentary was all about supporting/complementing the visual. These folks like Harsh, Arun Lal etc. have not really learnt the basics of TV commentary. Always found Harsh to be annoying. I especially cannot stand his wise arze expert comments. Don't like to mention about Arun. he is not a commentator at all.

Navjot Siddhu is very annoying as well. Arun Lal is ok, at least he knows when to keep quiet.

I like Harsha's comm.

IPL is all about entertainment and he is the only commie who try to bring humor in it

Rest of them are pretty much like test match commies

Re: Can Harsha please shut up!
He would work better as a purely radio commentator.

Still he was good 10 years back.

Goes to show that money corrupts! Gavaskar is probably the only tolerable commentator from the subcontinent.

What are your criteria for tolerability of commentators?

Complement the action on the field with quiet and insightful comments, rather than impose on the viewer. Specially when they impose nonsense.

Some of the English commies are very good that way. A couple of the Aussies too.

Again another match spoiled by Harsha's 'entertaining' comments.

Re: Can Harsha please shut up!
Most commentators state the obvious.. when a good partnership is going on they will say a wicket is needed and vice-versa.. what seperates a good one from a mediocre one is how to break partnership or build one..
