Re: KKR vs CSK : Contest of Captains
KKR loses BADLY, making this the MOST one sided match of IPL so far..
Proved a no contest between 2 captains, Dhoni Inspiring his team thru brilliant batting and captaincy, and Ganguly overestimating his abilities and failing individually, taking the team with him.. Reply•Quote |

Re: IPL 3: Chennai Super Kings Discussion
Hayden looks very rusty and it won't be easy for him to get back in form in this fast paced tournament. CSK should ideally drop him and bring in Parthiv...who could also relieve Dhoni of keeping. Plus it would free up a foreign player slot for Ntini, which would strengthen their bowling. _______________________ India's Test record against Australia over last 12 years: Played 26, Won 10, Lost 10, Drawn 6 Reply•Quote |

Re: IPL 3: Chennai Super Kings Discussion
Dhoni out for 10 days according to rediff and Raina to captain CSK....
Not sure how I feel about this(I mean Raina's captaincy)..... They'll miss MSD and Raina doesn't seem to be captaincy material... 24 needed with a bunny coming in at 11? No problem! Reply•Quote |

Re: IPL 3: Chennai Super Kings Discussion
Bumping this thread, why are only some team discussions a sticky?
Not too many CSK fans here I guess..... Anyway, CSK is winning thanks to some good top order displays.... M Vijay has been especially impressive.... But their bowling is SUCKING big time and they need their top order to fire to win... 24 needed with a bunny coming in at 11? No problem! Reply•Quote |

ananthd, I have made this a sticky again. We just wanted to reduce the number of threads at the top. If anyone else wants one of the other teams' threads to be stickied, please let us know and we will do it. _______________________ India's Test record against Australia over last 12 years: Played 26, Won 10, Lost 10, Drawn 6 Reply•Quote |

Sudip Tyagi was hitting speeds of 140+ in yesterday's match. Good to see, however he should work on adding some variety to his bowling. _______________________ India's Test record against Australia over last 12 years: Played 26, Won 10, Lost 10, Drawn 6 Reply•Quote |

Re: Suddenly Chennai are No. 4...
I don't care who the feck wins. It would be an insulting if a team lead by a non-Indian wins again as the case has been thus far.
Among foreign led IPL teams: PKXI is out DC is nearly out RR is over performing again under Warne. Realistically, BRC, MI and DD are all but certain in semis. IMO only thing left now is a tussle between RR and CSK for the semi final spot. KKR will fight with PKXI for the wooden spoon. Reply•Quote |

Re: IPL 3: Chennai Super Kings Discussion
^ Yes a win over Kings XI should see CSK through to semis. Though if their batsmen don't find form (especially Hayden, Dhoni, Hussey, Morkel), I can't see them winning tomorrow. They have depended completely on Raina and Vijay, and to some extent Badri, to deliver the runs of late. _______________________ India's Test record against Australia over last 12 years: Played 26, Won 10, Lost 10, Drawn 6 Reply•Quote |

Re: IPL 3: Chennai Super Kings Discussion
Congrats to Chennai for reaching the final once again. They bowled and fielded superbly. Bollinger, Ashwin kept it tight, and Raina was brilliant in the field. Crucial contributions with the bat also by Badri and Anirudha. Excellent captaincy by Dhoni. Except for giving the 17th over to Jakati, which IMO was a mistake, it was a flawless performance by him. _______________________ India's Test record against Australia over last 12 years: Played 26, Won 10, Lost 10, Drawn 6 Reply•Quote |

Re: IPL 3: Chennai Super Kings Discussion
yeah just watched the recording..
the bowling/fielding performance was clinical.. the pitch was indeed spongy/slow and inspite of the intent from DC batters, it was hard to middle the ball... CSK is managing with just 2 pacers and its possible on slow pitches but on belters, that could be their weak point.. but anyway they have only 1 good pacer in bollinger and excellent set of spinners...
