--It cannot be Kohli.......over a period of time he is suited for #4

--Rahane?....possibly but I am looking at Rahane opening the batting with Gambhir and Sehwag dropping down the middle order to No.5

--Sehwag...too flashy to be at No.3 with declining reflexes

--VVSL....might make an emotional appeal to selectors and media to be given the No.3 spot that he has covoted for so long....but that would be a step back.
First VVSL needs to retired
second......even if he hangs on...we need a the guys who will hold the No.3 spot for next 5 years to be the one batting at that slot

---So will Pujara fit in??
yes best bet I would say

--I would not rule out Badrinath yet as in conettnion behind Pujara

--Rohit too flashy for No.3

--Manish Pandey, Kaif and Mandeep sharma and Nayar should also be in the reckoning.

so the new look Indian test match XI for home series

1) Rahane ( backup Mukund)
2) Gambhir *
3) Pujara ( backup Badrinath, rohit)
4) Tendulkar ( i still see him going to SA)
5) Kohli
6) Sehwag ( backup Rohit, Kaif and Nayar)
7) Saha+
8) Ashwin
9) Zaheer
10) Ojha
11) Yadav

Badrinath has been ruled out already.. I don't think he is getting any kind of international chances any more... According to selectors he is domestic giant who failed at international appearances.. and also he doesn't have the X-FACTOR .. I believe Rohit will start getting more chances..
