Nice article in cricinfo...

The next most Ranji wins by a side is Delhi... so maybe can come up with an all time Delhi XI to take on this side...

Birbal, I think Karnataka has the next most Ranji wins 8 and Delhi have 7...

Bombay's batting is world class, but their bowling seems a little weak....

Karnataka have the opposite problem, but I think they are a better balanced side:

My alltime Karnataka X1:

1. KL Rahul
2. Robin Uthappa
3. Rahul Dravid
4. Gundappa Viswanath
5. Brijesh Patel
6. Syed Kirmani(wk)
7. Anil Kumble(c)
8. Javagal Srinath
9. Venkatesh Prasad
10. EAS Prasanna
11. BS Chandrasekhar

12th: Roger Binny or Sunil Joshi

Delhi have similar issues as Bombay, strong batting not so great on bowling...

1. Gautam Gambhir
2. Virender Sehwag
3. Raman Lamba
4. Virat Kohli(c)
5. Mohinder Amarnath
6. K P Bhaskar
7. Manoj Prabhakar
8. Vijay Dahiya(wk)
9. Ishant Sharma
10. Ashish Nehra
11. Bishan Bedi

12th man: Ajay Sharma/Maninder Singh

I did consider Tiger Pataudi as captain and potential #6, but I think he played more seasons for Hyderabad than for Delhi....

24 needed with a bunny coming in at 11? No problem!

My favorite domestic team might be the stylists of Hyderabad, it's not half bad.

1. M V Sridhar(RIP)
2. D Jayantilal
3. VVS Laxman
4. Md. Azharuddin
5. M L Jaisimha
6. Tiger Pataudi(c)
7. Syed Abid Ali
8. P Krishnamurthy(wk)
9. Shivlal Yadav
10. Pragyan Ojha
11. ShivlaVenkatapathy Raju

Unfortunately their seam bowling is pretty weak, as they have to rely on Jaisimha/Jayantilal to send in dibbly dobblies as well as Abid Ali. They have capable spinners.

And finally my home team of TN, lot of talented players only one Ranji to show for it....

1. S Ramesh
2. K Srikkanth
3. S Sriram
4. S Badrinath
5. W V Raman
6. Hemang Badani
7. Dinesh Karthik(wk)
7. Robin Singh
8. D Vasu
9. R Ashwin
10. S Venkataraghavan(c)
11. L Siva

Might be the only domestic team with FC 100s for all X1, but their seam options are weak(Vasu/Robin), but they might bat you out of a game...

Don't know enough about other state teams, I'd think Baroda/Bengal can field good teams...

Very nice teams ananthd....

It is indeed surprising that TN have won only one Ranji title...

Here is a REST of India XI to represent the other teams...

Navjot Sidhu
Pankaj Roy
Cheteshwar Pujara
Vijay Hazare
C.K. Nayudu (c)
Sourav Ganguly
M.S. Dhoni (wk)
Kapil Dev
Ravi Jadeja
Irfan Pathan
Harbhajan Singh

12th man
Mohammad Kaif

QUite a strong team... with lots of batting and bowling options... and haven't even considered... Parthiv Patel, wridhaman Saha, Yuvraj Singh, Umesh Yadav, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Nissar and Lala Amarsingh...
