India's world cup plans

India are pretty much settled in top 3. Number 4 is also okay if Dhoni bats there. Rohit was correct in saying that Dhoni is ideal at 4.
That opens up 5,6 and 7 positions.
8,9,10 and 11 can be taken up by bhuvi,Chahal or Kuldeep, Shami and Bumrah.

Jadhav's bowling is difficult to get away with. So Jadhav can slot in at number 5.
When Hardik Pandya comes in, he can bat at number 7.

That leaves number 6. I would like someone like Shubman Gill or someone proven hitter at 6.

DK is good for 20-30 runs but that is not going to be sufficient. Rayudu seems a better batsman to me with temperament to play bigger innings. But currently seems to be a bit out of touch.

Number 6 spot is up for grabs I think.

Why not Rayudu at 4...? his ODI batting average is OVER 50!

Because Dhoni at any other position is useless. He has lost his hitting capability.
Rayudu can come in at 5 and Jadhav at 6.

That is correct. It seems Kuldeep has worked on his bowling. When Kiwis toured India earlier, they were playing Kuldeep with a degree of comfort. But now again he is causing trouble, that too on flat surfaces.

About batting, I think Rayudu vs D Karthik vs Shubman Gill is going to be the contest. Rayudu does not seem to have a fifth gear which is important for a batsman playing last overs. Karthik has it but his average is much lower compared to Rayudu.

I would put Jadhav at no 5 and Karthik at 6.
