The diplomatic corps has missed out badly in failing to recruit Lord Grockle.

OK I suppose I should put myself forward and say that I will go to the club office because " I WILL GET YOU BUTTLER"

You've been waiting for the chance to use that 'line'! [:wor kid:]

I don't think there's any real problems with Afghan cricket at the moment boys so I don'tthink I'm needed!

JOS BUTTLER HAS NOW BEEN PAID FOR AND IS THE OFFICIAL SOMERSET GROCKLE FOR THE 2010 SEASON!!

Thank you one and all for your generosity and good luck to the young man in a very difficult season for him.

Well done Grockle. Your perseverance has been rewarded.

I shall follow Jos with even greater interest as it is wonderful to see so many supporters doing their bit to get behind the squad and the club.

At last we can now relax knowing no other obstacle will get in our way.

How can he possibly fail with THIS fan-base behind him!

An excellent choice. I am sure that it will be third time lucky with Jos.

Out of mild interest does the web site get anything out of this? Besides a little publicity and the warm glow that we are supporting him. I realise that those living nearer to Taunton will have first call on any domestic duties, such as serving at table or announcing visitors. Are we allowed to pat him or feed him biscuits and is he contractually bound to wave at us?

Do we get an audience with him? Will he twitter? (how ever that works)

My young cousin, who finds him "cute" asks if she can take him home with her and has left space on her mantlepiece for him. Although she has been quite distressed since the increase in cider prices and feels this may double her student loan.

Any way good luck Joss, just remember we are right behind you. That could be scarey if one was of a nervous disposition.

We get some free tickets which we used for worthy causes last year and at the end of the year we get a signed shirt from the player which this year was auctioned for Sports Relief....oh and our name and link on the official site and in the programmes

That's fine because we are in it for what we are putting in not for what we are getting out

And it shows the club the level of our desire for involvement - and that gets noticed believe me.

From the Cricinfo write-up of this year's Wisden:

"Jos Buttler, from King's College, Taunton, is the Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year"

What a start to the season for our brave boy?!

Excellent one day start for our man with a quick fire and very important 20 odd batting number 7 at the end of our innings and some solid glovework during theirs including a very good catch with some excellent footwork to get himself into position.

Well done Jos...here's to more and the lifting of that percieved jinx

Why the next few weeks? He's hoping to make it as a batsman if not needed to keep and on today's performance he will make it.I was really impressed with his all round play today.
