All he had to say really was that he could see England players "pointing and swearing," when chances went down in the field in Ashes matches.

By contrast, I'm absolutely sure that, when a catch went down off an Australian bowler, the bowler would simply have said "no worries, mate, I'll buy you a beer after the game to show you that I'm not upset at all."

Of all the KP-has-written-a-book articles this last week this by Vic Marks is one of the better ones

A very prescient piece by our Victor. I particularly enjoyed his final sentence!

It's news, but I'm not sure how it's cricket related!

He's a fan then is he!?

Re: 2014 NEWS SNIPPETS
SheptonPaul 15 October, 2014 19:29
I'd heard he was there quite often, usually near a bar, allegedly.

Re: 2014 NEWS SNIPPETS
Grockle 15 October, 2014 19:34
He's pretty much fastened to a bar most of the time.

Spent a very funny evening one Christmas watching him, Andy Caddick and a friend of mine so out of it he could hardly speak having a three way conversation about something that was completely incoherent.

They all agreed at the end it seemed though I doubt any of them had an idea what the other two were talking about - ahhhh the Moat...how I miss you

Jonathan Trott will be included in the Lions squad to tour South Africa in the new year. The full tour party will be announced probably on Tuesday.

But none of them are ours

... and we should be relieved that none of our young players, having been sent to Australia to enhance their skills, will be required to demonstrate them in the artificial setting of T20 bash. A four-day match against their Australian counterparts would present a much more useful (and revealing) challenge.

Quite.

Except that opportunity has not been afforded to any of our youth has it?

My argument is that it is an opportunity they can do better without.

According to his book it seems most of his Cricketing mates are within the IPL & Delhi Daredevils.

Although he still refers to Ashley Giles as a mate?

Delhi have only released him because they want to get him back at a lower price. He will get an IPL spot - the Indians love him, he puts bums on seats - and shirts on backs.

Now that KP is a free agent, he no longer has the back up of training with England, or even Surrey.

It just goes to show, no matter how good you can potentially be, without the discipline of regular training and nets, you can't just turn up and expect to produce your best form.

His value is falling quicker than the Russian rouble.

Can he keep wicket?

He can no more keep wicket than he can his own counsel.
