Apologies people

A few things going on at the start of September as I remain in the UK past 100 days. Lost in all that was the PoM.

This goes from the 6th of August Surrey T20 to the Essex Somerset game in Chelmsford CC1 against Essex. Don't get carried away with this week...that will be covered in the September PoM and the different format votes after the Middlesex game.

Van Der Merwe should be on the list.

Bartlett shouldn't be as did not appear until the game after Essex.

Are either in with a relevant chance of making a difference? Should have included RvdM and only added George because I had space.

I loved it when West Ham fans voted the goalpost as their man of the match. In a similar vein, perhaps the mad archer should be in your list.

But we weren't involved in that Adelaide. Why would he be eligible for our PoM vote?

It's down to 2 bowlers and RvdM isn't one of them. I'll run this until the end of the season and then do September's.

You need to start working on your MVPs in the different formats and the Player if the Season. I don't see huge fields in some if those areas.

It's all county championship and we seem to only have gone in with 12. Lewis was injured and have I missed someone obvious who played? I have a nagging feeling I have but I can't for the life of me see it.

This is the last MONTHLY poll but although the County have had their official awards evening already we still have a number of polls to go.

I'd like to ask for nominations to go in with the monthly winners for the PLAYER of the SEASON

I'd also like to ask for names for CC1, 50 over and T20 Players of the season

I think we should award in all three formats rather than adding the two short formats together

We could have a young player of the year but I think we would find that one man would get that quite easily (players under 23) Possibly most promising newcomer might be a category?

I'm open to suggestions for others. I'd like to keep the candidate numbers down to less than 10 for the season/month stuff and less than 5 for others but we'll see how it goes.

Anyway this poll will run until the middle of October and the others should be sorted by the end of the month. Enjoy

For those polls each month, because I'm a bit sad like that, I tend to go back through the relevant scorecards and tot up 50s, 100s, wickets and so on. While I think one guy has stood out, it's really noticeable from these four matches that all 12 have contributed towards our now-traditional strong end to the season. And we shouldn't underestimate the work of our young captain in getting the best out of the players available to him on the field.

Agreed SP.

At the half way mark, I had virtually given up on Tom, so good for him on getting his own act together with the bat, as well as marshalling the team on the field, in extremely challenging times.

This one is a formality, perhaps the England selectors should be allowed to enter so we can understand their mindset.
