I would like to thank the West Indies women for finding the batting collapse gremlins in the Taunton dressing room and adopting them as their own

Grockle, what is the crowd like at today's NZ v WI match?

I've been to two women's world cup matches at Taunton so far, with wildly different numbers of spectators. The India v WI match only had about 50 adults watching plus schoolchildren (not helped by frigid weather), while the England v SL match (on Sunday in glorious sunshine) had over 3000 people watching.

Hopefully more people are in for this match than the India-WI one!

I think that 500 non-schools spectators is an exaggeration. I would have put it at half that number. Thank goodness the games are played during the school term. Sadly obvious that locals (including SCCC members who get in free) are not really interested in womans cricket but only when England play. Hopefully there will be more there on Saturday.

and most of the adult spectators are relatives of the players.

At one of the matches Charlotte Edwards was able to name practically every member of the crowd 'That's x's mum and dad. That's Y's sister.

The best bit was when the camera focused on two little girls. 'Those little girls are Katherine Brunt's nieces. They certainly look like little Brunts'

That was at a match last week.

Not here. Mostly retired members.

They concentrate in the three member stands and the Gimblett. Few in the other parts except school trips.

The kids were well occupied with the stuff behind the new pavilion.

A shambolic display from the West Indies, they have gotten worse with each game they have played at Taunton. New Zealand were very professional and looked a solid outfit, two good spinners and an opening bowler who looked by some way the quickest bowler that I have seen so far in the tournament. I didn't think that the crowd was to bad today given that it was a week day and England were not playing, it was certainly a lot better than last Thursday.

I would think that the majority of our full-price members are retired. That's why, unlike other clubs, there is no over 65 membership or reduced entrance price. The club would lose a fortune compared with current income.
