Radio 'commentary' in the absence of play & conversation is currently focussing on SCCC having lost nine T20 games on the run.

I knew we were in a T20 hole, but hadn't realised it was that bad.

Something has gone very badly wrong.

Just seen the team.
Myburgh is out again - has he had another injury?
Hildreth is still in and Steve Davies is not only in, but restored to opening.
Hmm.

It would be nice for someone to tell us what exactly IS wrong with Johann. He seems to be carrying an injury that is more than minor if that is the case.

Tonight's game, at a damp and dour Cardiff has been slightly delayed.

No Myburgh or Anderson, so pretty much a home grown team.

Already moved.

Allenby, Davies, Trego, Hose, Hildreth, Leask, RvdM, Gregory, Overton C, Groenewald, Waller

Not sure how I personally feel about this side.

Leask gets a chance. Would have possibly liked to have seen Banton or Ryan come in for the gloves and let Steve bat but the young Scot has been seen as a bit if a T20 specialist,

Not sure what else is available so Steve remaining, James remaining and Pete remaining wasn't really a choice was it?

Chasing again. D/L plan?

Try reading the titles Botham it helps. Top threads are at the top and the Glamorgan one is the one people are posting on.

How long has it been you have been posting here - albeit more often in the past?

Was it the 'Glammy' that threw you?

Ingram gone

We don't have much of a choice seeing as our squad is so limited. You make your bed and you lie in it, because we are at our lowest point for years as a result of a lack of foresight and planning by various D O C's. Maynard is as much to blame as others for not seeing it coming though.

Glad they have given Leask a tryout. He has done well with the bat for our Seconds and in club cricket recently.

Haven't seen the latest score from Cardiff for about 20 mins., but I think that we may well win tonight.

Don't know why, but there it is.

A glass half - empty or a glass half - full?
Regardless, both glasses need filling up.

Where is the connection between women's cricket and T20 for me?

I bet some others will have equal difficulty.

May as well just have one thread for T20?

Don't ever change Grockle, quite unique and predictable.

No-one else found it a problem. I think another poster pointed the thread out to you - the top one that people were already posting about the game on.

Your thread was merged, there was no problem but you have to make the flippant comment rather than just posting on the thread.

We won't change the site - there is no need to.

I'm not sure we have the batting to do this Tom.

I think you are right in this format of the game that we are missing resources but we are looking at a squad that is also 3 or 4 down from what we would like to put out there.

Corey was an issue last time he was here and probably too much of a gamble to go for.

I do not understand not signing the second international and if that is an issue of money then we do need to look at those who are highly paid at the end of the season.

Although I disagree with AG about his retrospective view of the forward planning for Elgar we were so strategically poor last season in this format that we needed experience and we haven't got it in the squad.

Myburgh seems to have a larger injury than we are being told. I'd have liked another batsman and maybe not as many slow bowlers on a wet night but Leask is supposed to be a batsman in this so maybe he will come good.

DL may win this o. If the weather lets it. Wonderful crowd at the SWALEC. Can't wait until 2020.

For those who have simply got on with the discussions rather than petulantly moaning about the thread title.

The reason why both topics had to be amalgamated was simply because I did not get away from the first game until 5:30 in a rush and knew I would not be home until after the start of the T20 match. You will notice my first post on this was 7:17.

When I did get home there were simply two posts on a thread started and comments already on the top thread so it seemed easier to just merge the two.

The petulance and pettiness that then ensued is not going to be tolerated here from part time posters with their own long term issues and they have been informed of that. They could have just asked for the reason.

To the posters with something to say about the game. If you want this splitting into two threads then please let me know by PM and I'll try and do that tomorrow but as the report is on the women's match and the comments are on the Glamorgan game I'm not sure it is worth it. We may not get a second half anyway and it might be a 5 over slog. But let me know.

The others... post on the subjects or go home and come back tomorrow with something sensible to say please.

Almost certainly dodged a bullet as hugely unlikely that our hopelessly out of form batsmen could chase down 200+ (which is what they'd have probably got with Rudolph still in).

The worst of it is that the batsmen are now certain to get 'one more game,' as they didn't get their feet wet here.

On a more positive note, if we continue to struggle in this format then maybe NONE of our players will get drafted into the franchise rubbish.

At the moment the only name that might be on somebody's list would be VDM, I'd have thought.

Johann probably won't be fit anyway and Mike Leask is supposed to be a T20 batsman so probably the same side - a bit spin heavy though.

Another absolutely storming caught and bowled by that man Waller again. This time he seemed to set him up for it.

After 9 successive defeats in completed matches and another unpromising performance tonight then it must be time for some changes.

We could do worse than thinking about changing the Captain first - especially if the commonly held belief that he won't be here next season is true.

Let's face it, we were never likely to make huge headway in this competition and it looks less likely now than before the comp started (when it already looked unlikely).

So perhaps we should move forward with somebody new, be it home grown like LG or Max (captained seconds quite a bit) or maybe somebody like Roelof?

Let's face we've very little to lose by making a change. We surely need to win some games because losing everytime in T20 is unlikely to help morale ahead of the CC resumption.

I thought there was quite a reasonable crowd there today considering it was quite chilly but some of Australia's batting was lovely to watch. These two teams could well meet in the final and it is difficult to see them losing. (There, is thatokay, Grockle?)

And in the short term how will this help?

Jim will still have to play so how will this disruption create anything but more instability?

If it can't get any worse and the strategy is from the centre how can changing the captain without changing the strategy create better results? The resources available presently are the same. Do you expect someone thrown into the job on a match's notice to suddenly stumble over the solution?

Surely if it can't get any worse then the way to go is fight to make it better this year and SERIOUSLY this time plan and organise for the T20 next year (our next to last top level competitive version of this format).

Cut your losses on this, blood the young, work on the mistakes and plan for the only meaningful thing left this season which is the CC1.
