Ahh wsm knows. Steve has stiff neck. As he says, the overnight bus trip from Cardiff can't have helped. Gregory opening with Allenby.

We've decided not to chase today.

Middx's batting line-up looks hugely powerful. Had we chased, we may well have ended up chasing 250+.

As It is, we will surely need at least 200 even to give them a game.

Decent start from LG. The more experienced guys? Useless again, thus far.

Middlesex did flatter to deceive against Hampshire on Friday night so we can but hope!

Time for a new T20 Captain? Allenby gives away too many with the ball, and doesn't score enough with the bat.
Who we can get to fill the role though......

LG, MW, VDM?

All three are in the team every week. LG was trusted with the CC leadership. Max has led the seconds many times and, let's face it, has nothing else to do Bar prep for T20 so should have an uncluttered mind. VDM is experienced and combative.

Time for Jim to go, me thinks.

Although whichever of Allenby/Maynard decided that LG would open at least gets a pat on the back for that.

Decent start, need to keep wickets in hand

Shouldn't have bothered with Hildreth here - he's habitually too slow, given the sort of total we'll need.

Great stuff from Hose.

Is Hildreth already out?

No. But I'd be amazed if we won't need 10+ runs per over throughout to get a competitive total here and ten runs per over is seldom his game. On a normal sized ground vs an average batting line-up, then Hildreth might be ideal to just keep giving Hose the strike but I think this requires the longest of handles from both ends.

Not a lot of batting to come after Hildreth though is there.

Well that was Hildreth's quickest ever innings so he must have got the memo that not an occasion for pushing singles, rotating the strike etc.

Time to see what Leask and VDM can do..and maybe Cove

Doesn't Hildreth only need to hit 5? Aren't they presently going at 9?

Is he out yet?

Shame we don't have TG rather than Davey - a few huge sixes from him at the death might make a difference.

Yep James has gone. Damn he was so slow!! 56 in 29 balls with Adam. And only scoring 38 of them while there.

Shame he didn't get going then. Let's hope those who follow can score faster than that turgid almost 2 a ball!!

Why is VDM coming in so low? Is it deliberate in terms
of overs left?

Time to see what Mr Banton has.... no pressure, Tom....we only need at least 48 from the final 30 balls, in all probability

Spinners gaining some traction so hope for VDM and MW when it comes to bowling. Higgins' figures looking remarkable in the context of the innings, thus far.

Not going to be Banton. Cove and RvdM need to keep us in this. Just 2 runs a ball guys. Like that real slow bloke we shouldn"t have bothered with. No pressure.

Middx did win easily with 195-6 last year, albeit the game was in May and Hants were 'depleted,' as per Wisden.

WEll at least that is a decent target to bowl at, although with the Msex batting at Uxbridge it's not as big as it looks. Max and Roelof hold the key with some economy from the quicks. Am I right in thinking that 4 of our batsmen made their highest t20 scores today? Up and at'em

The number of times they have said, remember it is a small ground.

A good start is what we need with the ball.

Small grounds, big grounds, wickets win matches. Scores just give you time. Keep them dropping regularly and they don't build up momentum.

Have to see whether their batting likes our bowling like it seems has happened in all our T20 games this season.
