So, incredibly, the visiting side has now won all four matches at Taunton, ALL of them by the margin of one wicket.

What odds would you get on that?

Outstanding news re: Lammonby.

We do seem to have a potentially outstanding crop of younger players coming through.

Of course, some will fall by the wayside, but the greater the number coming through, the greater the chance that some will prove real forces at the next level, or so the law of averages would suggest..

It sounded to be a great game to watch. Well done to everyone on both sides.

I watched the 2 Under 19 ODI's v. India at Taunton on successive days in 2002. As per the result today, India won both games by a single wicket.

I was amazed at the talent of a 16 / 17 year old Indian batsman called Ambati Rayudu, who scored 80 in the first game and 177 not out in the second. Here, I thought, was not only one to watch, but a future Gavaskar in the making.

He has had a very successful career in India averaging 45 with the bat in First Class matches, and 50 in 34 ODI's.

He still plays in the IPL, and First Class cricket as well, but has never played in a Test Match.

He undoubtedly has had a good career, but has never appeared for a First Class county. One wonders whether he (and I am sure there are many others with a similar background) would have been a success over here. He is just one who I saw as a young boy, and whom I have never forgotten.

Excellent response to Tom L's award yesterday. Well deserved.
