I was delighted to read on the official site that a new Taunton Monopoly is to be launched at the County Ground and that the game will contain some Somerset cricket components.

I think the game could be improved by linking it entirely to Somerset cricket, so that our four pavilions replace the stations and other great places, such as Gimblett's Hill and the MT stand are included.

Go to Jail could be replaced by Go to Nevil Road.

A Community Chest card could read: Leach and Bess have bowled 25 overs in an hour; receive two bonus points.

Other suggestions are encouraged - something to do between now and winning The Ashes.

Bad flight stops play. Lose two points and go (indirectly) to Nevil Road.

I'm chilled mate - more important things in life.

It's called banter - perhaps you should google it.

or, How about a game of TAUNTON CLUEDO (Murder at the Cricket edition)

I'll start off with :-

Simon Lee
On the wicket
With a rake

(Motive - Divison 1 survival at any cost, together with £800 'bonus' from Matt Maynard towards Big Bike Ride 3 sponsorship).

...... or

Colonel Grockle
In cyberspace
With his ego

(Motive - to have the last word).

It were Angus Fraser wot did it,

With the huge chip on his shoulder.

A weighty tome indeed.

Dear old Angus, he's such a smiler.

Brings feelings of harmony, goodwill, happiness and universal positivity everywhere he travels.

No need for google when you give us such good practice of it Snicko. (Sm100)

If you dish it you really must learn to take it.

Twitter level at best though unfortunately. We work at a higher level here.

More than happy to receive anything you wish to throw at me.

I would urge you to exercise caution as I am more than capable of looking after myself.

(Sm22) Bobstan hits the nail again.

I'm sure you can take care of yourself Snicko. No idea why you need to tell me that though.

You come on. Provide 'banter', get it back, take offence, then seem to want to escalate for no apparent reason.

I think 'walk away and let the man/woman posture in the mirror' is the policy I'll follow.

Thanks for popping along.

Enjoy your winter

Cheers

I started this thread in the hope it would exploit the wit and creativity of our contributors but it very quickly degenerated into sniping, like so many other threads do. Could we not occasionally manage to maintain a sniper-free zone or am I just too naive for this world?

I concur LoL - I'm being told "we work on a higher level here" and I'm searching for any evidence to support this claim.

Groundsman judiciously rakes wicket at both ends on a length for your spinners - Escape all punishments, move forward 1 space .

Put yer sniper's rifle away then Snicko see how we do when people talk cricket instead.
