ECB handling of the England ashes team.

The ECB are getting themselves in a huge hole regarding there handling of this Ashes circus.
Firstly There’s the handling of Ben Stokes which has had a massive influence on the squad, pondering on , if and when he will turn up (That’s if the ECB can locate him)and who will have to make way for him whatever form suggests otherwise. Now it has gone to the CPS there should be an immediate statement saying no go to the ashes, so at least the players no where they stand.
Then there is Jonny Bairstow. He should have been on the next plane home, allowing Foakes his opportunity. But no. Not the ECB
And then there’s the selection policy.Doesn’t been picked on a tour mean you will normally be ahead on merit of other possible replacements.
Who is actually responsible for this mess. The ECB?The Selectors? The tour management?

I'm not at all sure Bairstow has done anything wrong at all. And not sure what you mean about replacements being ahead of originally-selected players - has that happened?

I'm not against ECB/selectors being criticised in general, but only if there's justification...

It was a stupid, childish incident , but Bairstow should have been sensible enough to know that the Australians would blow it out of proportion. As a result it has impacted the whole team.
I still think that the ECB’s determination to get Stoke’s back in the England side ASAP has also had a detrimental effect on the squad, and that they are looking at other bowling options like Wood to come into the squad, rather than give the likes of Craig their opportunity.

However, Wood was only not selected due to lack of fitness. It's not as though they decided that he wasn't good enough and then have suddenly decided that he is.
