Too good to not be at the top of our thread list a little early.

Now if I had come up with that thread title....

(Sm159)

Do Middlesex members get a reduction if they bring their own rake?

I wonder what it was that you said in your post Bagpuss, that had to be edited by the moderator?

Of course there are still those who are in denial that the Somerset groundsmen raked both ends of the pitch before the start of the Middlesex county championship game last year.

They are of course wrong - I witnessed it myself.

It's a fresh pitch, west of the middle.

What has happened to the sunny weather this week? for the last three day's it has been cloudy with light rain at times each day.

Sorry Clarence?

In order to make a thread 'sticky' the moderator has to log on and change the status to 'sticky'.

Sorry it is no more suspicious than that for you.

OK, Old Boy, under the circumstances I got the wrong end of the stick.

It rarely happens.

Squad named for Sunday.

Tom Banton, Steve Davies, Ben Green, Lewis Gregory, Tim Groenewald, James Hildreth, Johann Myburgh, Craig Overton, Jamie Overton, Matt Renshaw, Peter Trego, Roelof van der Merwe, Paul van Meekeren and Max Waller.

Still no Jash Davey, but Lewis is back as expected.

As expected? By who Roger? Were we given a date? Renshaw was back earlier.

Anyway. Let's hope it is all sorted in our favour.

Keep him away from Gus!

In contention it says.....

Lewis for Max i say. Should strengthen batting a bit and very good chance of reduced overs match so spin possibly less of an asset.
If we bat 1st then give Hildy cramp and bring Max on to field, sorted!

I'm not bothered either way.

If he signs for Middlesex we have acquired a good county cricketer.

If he signs for someone else (or stays put) then the MTWD poster who reckons he is definitely coming to Middlesex maintains his 100% record of always being wrong.

Grockle, Andy Hurry said last week that Lewis was having the week off, therefore it was expected (well I did anyway) he would be in the Squad for this Sunday.

Not sure what you heard re Renshaw, he was given two days off playing Golf in Oxford.
Nothing was said as far as I heard that Matt Renshaw was given more time off.

Either way good to see them both in the squad.

Keep Gus away from Somerset supporters, those that read the Evening Standard article.

Oh, he will Grockle, you can be sure of that.

As a player he had the reputation of being the moaningest minnie one could ever have the misfortune to meet.... .. of being to playing what R G D Willis is to commentating.... and he doesn't seem to have changed a great deal in his various new roles.

At least he won't be involved with England for much longer.

Acid test, IMO, will be who captains the team. In normal circumstances shirley Lewis is the obvious choice and I don’t think the last 2 games have enhanced PT’s claim. However ....?
