Think the toss is huge tomorrow looking at all the thunderstorms expected to hit the SE tomorrow evening. Prediction one point each and move on to sunday.

A bit of cloud building in Blackfriars but still a fair bit of blue sky. I have two brollies.

It has just rained - very gently - for three minutes in South London, four miles from The Oval. Dickie Bird has called the match off.

How can a 10 over a side match be good value for supporters, and good for the game?
Give me an evolving 4 day game any time over this nonsense

You're missing the point of the charade, Rod. Friday night cricket at the Oval tends to be of secondary importance

I could probably walk to The Oval in forty minutes or travel there by train in half the time to watch my side, but the attraction of all that razamatazz and the predictable plethora of drunken Friday evening "supporters" was minimal - and then the actuality of a ten-over slog comfirms the wisdom of my decision to stay at home.

It is not T20 that is the problem; it's The Oval on a Friday night.

Watching the live feed, with half an eye, whilst also watching the excellent Alan Turing film on tv.
How anyone at the ECB can think this type of game helps cricketers with their technique is completely beyond me!

Well played Lewis Gregory. Half the runs in a difficult game. Surrey need 100 to win.

Jerome being taken to the cleaners by Messrs Finch and Roy. 5 overs I reckon at this pace.

10 over lottery yes, but lots of wides given away and a very ill disciplined bowling performance by the sound of it. Humiliation and an absolute thrashing. Best not dwell on this too long and move onto Sunday. Bowling is a big concern though.

Can't wait for the ECB to bring in T10 after that example of the genre

What a waste of time, unless you're the Surrey treasurer. What did somebody say the other day about 'a game based on cricket'? Idiotic.

Surrey made a right mess of us. 10 an over isn't enough these days. Need to go for over 15 it seems. 20 if you can do it.

It would be interested to know how often in matches reduced to ten overs each the side batting second had won. (But I am not so interested that I intend to do any research on the matter!)
