No team changes. We will chase by choice. Strap in people

No live feed. Which is a shame for those not at the ground - like me. Good early wicket from Josh sends Stoneman back. 50 up for Surrey.

Good contest between bat & ball. DE living somewhat dangerously.

Elgar gets a bite, hopefully keep them under 250 now.

Well below 300 is a more realistic one probably though 275 would be more comfortable.

Batsmen MUST fire today

Well somewhere between the 2. Not 300 but not far below. Needs careful consolidation/accumulation with enough momentum to push for the win.

Difficult job that will need some thought and application to get the right side if that total.

Usually, we’d emphatically fancy chasing 290, especially as Surrey seem to have rested their first choice pacemen. I think it would take a decidedly poor batting performance to lose this from here. I note we bowled Azhar yet again, though, despite being ‘a one spinner team.’

True but where we are now I think I'd rather have George in than Dom or Jack.

Lewis needs a rest, he's lost all his sparkle.

Craig Overton, I think, our player of this campaign. I seem to remember he had a decent time of things in last year’s campaign, too.

Lewis, as with many guys who rely chiefly on lateral movement, can be somewhat neutered on tracks that don’t offer much seam movement, especially given that the white ball seldom swings. I’d argue that, on most surfaces, we’d be better off with an extra spinner than a surfeit of guys who rely on swing and seam (given the ball won’t swing and the tracks often don’t seam). If the track neither seams nor spins then you’re probably better off with pace off the ball.

In that case why aren't the obvious bowling option changes made. A few early wickets and we might see this over, finding it difficult to stay positive.

I wouldn’t worry - we’d usually expect to chase 290 in 50 rather comfortably.

Not LG’s best day, but everyone else bowled well, in what was a pretty disciplined effort in the field.

Odds about even right now. Need to keep up with DLS given the potential for rain.

Why oh why do people play the reverse sweep when they are going well? There are much better shots that get you out far less often. Well played Tom Banton...except for that little moment of idiocy!!

142 @ halfway. Need a slightly better second hslf to get home with 290.

All looking very comfortable. Had that Bartlett shot that went for six been caught, as it sounds like it should have been, then we could have a had a late wobble. But, overall, it's been a sound and measured chase, to date.

Clinically finished by George and Lewis. Well done to them.

I still question Azhar at the top of the order (too slow, IMO) and wonder about the balance of the attack, but we are through, which is the main thing.

Well that was so much better and an extremely welcome exorcism of Sunday !

James Hildreth returned to genius status as requested and special congratulations to George Bartlett for his first list ‘A’ 50.

Let’s hope we can bottle this form for use on Friday and perhaps Sunday as well.

That was very satisfactory - and I really enjoyed the commentary led by Gibson and two very fair-minded men from London.

I said earlier in the season that I had very high hopes of Bartlett. I still do.

Regardless, both glasses need filling up.

Good stuff, helped by some iffy Surrey fielding. Looks like Kent are falling away so it's away at Worcester.

Well done Somerset, glad to put that losing streak to an end.

We probably let Surrey get too many runs at the end (was this their highest score in the competition?) Also not sure why Elgar was bowling, but grateful for his runs anyhow.

A fine run chase from Glamorgan and Kent almost made it in the big score matches.

We did it by beating the bottom five teams and struggled against the rest, but that's that. Some much needed confidence (with hopefully a few lessons learned on soft dismissals going forward).

Will Morkel be back next week?

It was certainly a better radio performance than Hampshire who seemed aggressively defensive about any criticism at all

Well played George Bartlett. Both the young boys look so confident when they hit their shots. Tom made a wrong shot decision but he looked so good up until then.

Yes, La La La, Morkel was just being rested as Surrey had nothing to play for. He’ll be in Taunton for red ball.

George Bartlett looks a good bet for the future.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Somerset%20v%20Surrey%207th%20May%202019/James%20Hildreth.jpg

When you see that look on James Hildreth face you know you are in for a treat.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Somerset%20v%20Surrey%207th%20May%202019/James%20Hildreth%204%20runs.jpg

And we were James scored 93 with eleven fours and a six.

Peter Trego received a very nasty ball from Conor McKerr

A brilliant catch by Azhar Ali to dismiss Jamie Smith off the bowling of Jamie Overton/

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Somerset%20v%20Surrey%207th%20May%202019/Dean%20Elgar%20ct%20Tom%20Banton%20bld%20Craig%20Overton.jpg

Going for big shots can be the downfall for very batsman, and so it was for Dean Elgar, he was caught by Tom Banton off Craig Overton.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Somerset%20v%20Surrey%207th%20May%202019/Dean%20Elgar%206%20runs.jpg

While Dean Elgar was batting it look like he could have taken the game away from Somerset with six's like this.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Somerset%20v%20Surrey%207th%20May%202019/Mark%20Stoneman%20ct%20Tom%20Banton%20bld%20Josh%20Davey.jpg

Mark Stoneman was caught behind off the bowling of Josh Davey. Tom Banton looks a good wicketkeeper.

Away then for the next match.
