Hampshire were pushing like mad for Sam Northeast to be captain, so for a rare once the ECB weren`t listening to them.

Potentially Lewis could be bowling all day Wednesday until 6pm in Canterbury.
He is then due to be captaining our opening T20 at Cardiff on Thursday 6.30pm (212 miles)
Zero practice time with a white ball and barely a 24 hour turnaround.
Maybe he takes game 1 off and stays put for game 2.

Saturday 20th Kent away (on sky)

Same would be sensible, WSM. LG’s workload is going to have to be managed at some point, surely?

I mean, according to Gibson, LG is free of back pain for the first time in several years, this season. That's a state that we should obviously be seeking to preserve, given the absurdly good performances that said, free of pain, bowler was able to put in over the first 6 or 7 games of our CC season.

Overall? England hammered, by the looks.

Only one team has batted so far and San Curran seems to have been inspired by yesterdays result and has upped his efforts to get in the team

That just means that it must have started to swing today (Curran is no threat, when it doesn't swing), and - with England about to bat - they will have to hope that it doesn't continue to swing... and/or that the Aussies waste it by bowling too short.

Are you there, can you tell for sure.

Still fair play to Sam Curran for controlling the boomeranging ball enough to get 6 and to Lewis for adding to his tally. Nice neat figures.

I can't understand why Lewis Gregory has started bowling no-ball, he bowled several in the last county match.

Strong figures from Lewis.

Not a successful outing for Leachy.

A round Zero for Lewis I'm sad to say.

Followed by one for Jack. Not a good day all round.

Leachy a couple of wkts, but now starting to prove expensive again. Uncharacteristic for him.

I am not sure that they will go for Jack Leach in the Tests, which would be good for us.

A glass half - empty or a glass half - full?
Regardless, both glasses need filling up.

Maybe Jack Leach will be picked for the Test against Ireland at Lords next Wednesday as I presume he won’t be part of Somerset’s T20 campaign?

Nope. Dom would have been in front of him.

I think England will go with Adil and Moeen as well

Don’t think Rashid will play. Wouldn’t be surprised if he needs an operation on his shoulder

I fail to see, Grockle, why you state as some sort of fact that Dom would have been ahead of Leachy?

It's not Dom that's playing in the Lions.

So you didn't watch the one day campaign then AG? That was Somerset's decision.

The Lions was someone else's.

But when Jack gets into the T20 Somerset eleven I'll stand corrected.

Congrats to Lewis and Jack who are in the Ireland Test squad. Would guess at least one of them won’t be in final 11

Is Rashid even going to be fit for the Ashes?

If not, we may lose Leachy for a game or two?
