Another article has appeared on
Middlesex's section on TestMatchExtra.com, namely
about Toby Radford's new job as a director of cricketing excellence to the West Indies Cricket Board, although it is still not the type of article I want see appearing in Middlesex's section.
A couple of days ago, I came up with an analogy that Middlesex not having a corespondent on Test Match Extra is like the BBC picking on a Premier League football team and:
Not showing:
• That team's goals
• Times when that team went close to scoring
• Moments of magic from that team's players
• That team winning the ball in a tackle
• Post-match reaction from that team's manager
But showing:
• Their opponent's goals
• Times when their opponents went close to scoring
• Moments of magic from their opponent's players
• That team losing the ball in a tackle
• A member of that team doing something embarrassing, such as blasting the ball over the bar
• Post-match reaction from their opponents' manager
If Middlesex had a correspondent then both articles written from a Middlesex point of view and articles not written from Middlesex's point of view would appear on our page, but I would willingly take the rough with the smooth. This reminds me when I had food technology lessons at school, and I preferred to work on my own as that guaranteed that I would have to do all tasks (taking the rough with the smooth), whereas if I worked with someone else then there was a risk that my partner may do all my favourite tasks (such as measuring the ingrediants and washing up, not that washing up is necessarily part of food tech), and I would be frustrated.
