We were asked not to talk about some of the aspects of the meeting due to confidentially so those guys who didn't make it will only hear the edited highlights.....
Kimmy

So those who live too far away, were working or unwell, or simply decided not to go (it wasn't a 3 line whip), are not allowed to hear what others did? What absolute nonsense!

Sussex seaxe....

It's not that we don't want to tell you...

It's just that we don't want the press to know! Negotiations are ongoing and we definately DON'T want them thwarted! I guess you could email the club and ask them, but I certainly don't want to be responsible for making things go wrong.....

I realise it does seem to penalise a great many members, but there are sound reasons for the secrecy, honest!

Despite non-members being excluded, I was under the impression that the forum was very much a public meeting. It seems it was not.

I was surprised to be told it is a meeting of a 'private members club'. Therefore, any information given at that meeting which is not yet for public consumption must remain private so as not to damage any further negotiations.

This is unfortunate for those who could not attend but the very public nature of this message board means it cannot be used to pass the information on to fellow members.

Don't worry, I suspect it won't be confidential for long.

Thank you to you both for taking the trouble to respond. If I was to meet you in the pub (unlikely!), I suspect you might tell me, but I shall wait with interest,as I'm sure will many others.

Mind you, speculation runs rife......

I was working late and couldn't make it. 2010 subs have left my bank account pdq and I'm not allowed to hear about what went on at the forum.
I'm with Sussex Seaxe on this .... It's total garbage.

As a newbie member I found last night fairly informative, although I did think some of the talk about players lacking 'old sytle values', not talking 'man to man', and using agents a bit dated. As soon as there is 'major' money floating around players of any sport will look out for themselfs, and you cant really blame them. Instead of moaning about it we need to find a way for it to work for us.

As for the stuff that we cant write about, I assume there would be no problem passing that info to members via PM's?

Also as a new member of this site it was good to briefly meet a few people from here.

I thought the forum was reasonably good.

At least I feel Angus and the others, are giving a lot of thought and attention, as to how they can improve the fortunes of our club.

I was generally reassured about our prospects for this coming season.

However, as usual only time will tell.

The Forum also seemed to be well attended, which is always good to see, and shows that people still care about our club.

It must be really irritating for those who didn't go, to know that some surprising announcements were made but NOT to know what they were.

Who'd have thought we'd get HIM!?

Dingy bags: You mean we've got HIM? Well, he always bowls his thunderbolts straight and I wouldn't suspect him of mercenary motives.

But seriously, who can be so exciting? Tendulkar isn't coming and there aren't many match-winning bowlers around, even in Australia. Oh, give me a clue please!

Ronnie Irani isn't coming out of retirement, surely?
