Rikki Clarke’s transfer from Warwickshire to Surrey and Dominic Sibley’s move in the opposite direction, which were originally due to take place next season, have been brought forward, as they will play for their new clubs on loan for the remainder of the 2017 season.

As has been eloquently pointed out on Come on the Rey, even their fox has, er, gone forth and multiplied elsewhere.

And now Warwickshire have signed Ryan Sidebottom!!!!

Not THE Ryan Sidebottom- another one.

What are the chances of there being two professional cricketers both called Ryan Sidebottom?

Not an 'on the move', but Ian Bell has lost the captaincy at Warwickshire. Not sure if he jumped, or was pushed (pushed probably, knowing Giles.

Meanwhile, the predatory Giles is now after Durham's Paul Coughlin, even though he still has two years left at Durham.

Contracts clearly mean nothing to Giles.

At start of season everyone was saying Mooen Ali would go back to Warwickshire this winter. That seems to have gone quiet, but who knows.

Kevin Pietersen has announced he will cease playing county cricket.

I imagine that he will continue doing punditry and playing Twenty20 cricket around the world amongst other activities. However, his credibility as a pundit took a blow when he last night wrote on Twitter "I think this evening will be a walk in the park for @surreycricket", before Surrey lost their Twenty20 quarter-final v Warwickshire.

That makes his lamentable, one legged innings of one run against us his final appearance in a competitive match in the UK.
