inteligence ?

I do hope Chunky your pointing up the lack of a spell check by whoever wrote this rather than calling hard working officers unintelligent!

Experienced suicide bombers.

This was genuinely used in a police statement.

"Highly visible plain clothes police officers operate in this area"

Some genuine signs put up by intelligent police in the Southgate area.

Not quite an oxymoron but related to this - Met Police in Islington were putting up signs informing the public that "decoy bikes are being used to catch criminals". Surely the purpose of this is totally defeated by TELLING them they are using decoys?!

There can't be many scenes in the 29-year history of EastEnders that have been filmed in East London where it is set. The vast majority is filmed in Estree, although sometimes scenes set away from Walford are filmed in Borehamwood or Watford, and there have been a few times when production has taken place in or near Wembley.

On Monday's episode, Ian went to see Christian and Jane in Birmingham, but I imagine it was filmed within a short distance of Elstree. On Tuesday's episode, Lucy's funeral was filmed in Palmers Green in North London.

In the local council elections just gone, you have three votes.

On the Enfield council website, the result for my ward shows that four ballot papers were disqualified for "Voting for more than One Candidate".

I think we drove past while the BBC were there. If we'd known we could have shouted out "It was Dot Cotton wot dun it" or "She deserved it!" out of the window. An opportunity missed.

Simmo is not worth a place for his batting alone, but he is clearly a better keeper than Rosso who is keeping wicket in the same side and Simmo is picked as a specialist batsman.

Sell out crowds and empty seats.

At Wembley last week I saw it at Premiership play off final and from TV today saw quite a few at Lord's throughout.

Not just Corporate hospitality. I have a friend who plays cricket every week, buys a ticket for Day 1 of the Lord's Test and spends the entire day in the bar with friends. It does seem strange....

Edgware Town FC are reforming next season. Their new artificial pitch will not be ready in time, so they will be playing their first few games at Underhill. That means Edgware will be playing at Barnet, & Barnet play in Edgware.
