Beefy

I was teasing on MOT, I'm afraid.

A few years back, when Birmingham City were relegated at WHL, the City fans sang Keep Right On to the End of the Road and were applauded by the Spurs fans. Similar thing, I suppose, though Marching on Together sound a teeny bit paramilitary!

Marching on Together was actually the 'B' side of the record, with the other side called...Leeds United...How do they think these names up?!
Mind you, some of the songs that were bought out were just a bit worse!
Gone are those days of cup final songs, following the team on the coach to Wembley.
Cup Final It's a Knockout,Interviewing the wives etc of players....Oh,those were the days,and a 3 o'clock kick off!!!

I must say after 60 years of devotion, I am beginning to fall out of love with this great game. Money rules, and though you can not blame the players and coaches, they are all earning money in the premier league that is totally beyond my comprehension.

Turning to my team Chelsea, and yes I still have a season ticket. Apparently this season, according to the media, critics and some Chelsea supporters, has been a total disaster. Yet we are still fighting for a top four finish in the premier league, and we are in the semi final of the Europa League. I have had a feeling for some while, that the final will be Chelsea v Arsenal in Azerbaijan, and no, I will not be going. I did go to Moscow where we played and lost to Manchester Utd in the final of the Champions League.

Despite what the critics and media say. During the Abramovic era lasting 16 seasons we have won

1 Champions League. 1 Europa League. 5 Premier League titles. 5 FA Cups.3 League Cups.

15 major trophies in 16 seasons and by the end of the season it could be 16.

I would suggest to the critics and media, that record is truly one of the greatest golden eras any club has enjoyed. Like all golden eras, it must come to an end at some point, and one does not have to be a genius to work that out.

However, at least as far as Chelsea is concerned, I have seen everything, including being at the Allianz Stadium in Munich on the 19th May 2012 when i witnessed a footballing miracle. An English team beat a German team in a penalty shootout. The greatest night of my life

Health permitting, I hope to be at Lords on Sunday. Enjoy the holiday weekend every one.

So,its the play-offs.
After Christmas, our poaching for goals dried up a fair bit, and,Sheff U took their chances.
No doubt,Norwich deserved to win the Championship, their manager did wonders after they finished in low half of table last season.
Its Us,West Brom,Villa and either Frank Lampards Derby or Bristol City.
Rather mouth-watering play-offs!
Was a game full of incidents after the 72nd minute, before though, what size Ice Skates dies Grealish wear? Sliding everywhere, nothing changes with him.
Now,72nd minute,Villa player down, what law is there to stop play? Isn't one I can find.
But,the way the Villa players reacted was near abysmal in my eyes,if anyone was walking in the streets and got man handled like Klich was, they would be arrested for assault.Disgraceful in my eyes.
John Terry, who does he think he is? Can anyone lip read what he was shouting? He should be pulled in front of the EFL for that language being used towards our manager...it was two words, beginning with letters F and O.
Bielsa has been praised for telling us to let Villa score, and,Jannsen was wrong to try and tackle.
But,Bamford was wrong to fall to the ground...red card with be cancelled for sure.

So,play-offs will be full of action!

Beefy

Full marks to Bielsa for that, though a little part of me wonders whether he would have done that if there had been a reasonable chance of automatic promotion depending on it!

Play to the whistle indeed though here was a suggestion that the Leeds player had looked as if he was about to put the ball out of play, also that Villa had put the ball out of play for a Leeds injury earlier. Maybe that was for a head injury though.

I'd have Villa as favourites to go up from the play-offs, given their run of form, but you never know.

Dean Smith made me laugh, saying he said to Marcelo about gifting them a goal, trying to be peace maker,as knowing it was his players who man-handled a Leeds player first, and the disgusting language from the saint...John Terry.
No head injury to Kodjia.
Play to the whistle,Leeds did nothing wrong.

We wait for the play-offs now,4 big clubs involved, will make interesting viewing( and me on the valium!)

If the linesman had carried on officiating and kept up with play rather than come to a complete standstill he would have seen the Leeds player was 2 yds. offside.
Patrick Bamford sums up all that is wrong with football nowadays.

It's just been renamed the Lazarus Cup.

You do wonder whether last night could have happened without Tuesday night's brilliance, as it would have been in the minds of both teams.

Anyway, we now have a Final between two teams who live within their means. I know Liverpool have spent a lot but much of that was funded by selling Coutinho.

It has also been noted by Arsenal supporters that the PSG manager when Lucas Moura was sold to Spurs was Unai Emery!

Well done to Spuds. A great effort. Poch has made the media chatterboxes look silly with their continual bleating about squad depth.

On last nights showing. Not too much wrong with Spuds squad depth. MOM Moura but Rose put in a shift as did all the others.

Half time,1 up vs Frank Lampards Derby.
Home advantage for next leg, but,we need to be cautious.
Take an early lead, put more pressure on the rams.

Will be putting my radar on for 2nd leg, will need a bar to watch it.
Wonder how many more Leeeds fans in Vegas?!

Play off final is same day as day 1 of our county game at Worcester if we get there, will need to find a pub in Worcester if we get there......

BTW, I see that Bielsa has said that the issue in the Villa match was not playing on as such, it was feinting to put the ball out and then playing the through pass. That was why he instructed his team to let Villa score.

Whether or not the original feint/deception (delete according to taste) is consistent with "Leeds did nothing wrong" is arguable, to put it mildly.
