I've only just got around to getting Sky Sports (there was an offer on Now TV and I wanted to watch the British Lions in NZ) and quite like all the commentators. It sounds like a few people may just be bored of them because not much has changed in the last few years?

I will be interested to see who BT Sport get in to commentate. I'm guessing some of the ex-players on TMS are freelance (Vaughan, Swann, Glenn McGrath, etc.), so would be logical choices. Not sure who the lead commentators would be though.

Matt Smith will be hosting BT's coverage of The Ashes, so that isn't the reason for Charles Colville's absence this summer.

Hope he's okay.

Warwickshire v Essex will be live on Sky next week.

Normally they cover 2 championship matches a season.

If Essex have the title sewn up before the final week maybe our last game v Somerset will be shown (relegation decider)

Charles Colvile seems to be alive and well, as he today interviewed three former England captains, namely Graham Gooch, Nasser Hussain and David Gower. Colvile’s role appears to now be to present and perform interviews on the many documentaries Sky produce, as he has done so a few times in the last few months, and will probably continue doing so.

Colvile used to present dozens of days of live cricket each year back when Sky broadcast a few county List A matches each week and when viewers were shown a studio discussion during intervals of their international coverage. However, things have changed a lot on Sky since then, as they now have more presenters (Matt Floyd, Isa Guha, Nick Knight and Paul Allott have onto the presenting scene in recent years, although I don't think Allott will continue after his appointment as Lancashire’s director of cricket), show considerably fewer county List A matches, and rarely use a studio for their coverage of non-England internationals.

At the risk of being accused of sexist tendencies Isha Guha brings absolutely
nothing to the party.
