Sparse crowds will have little or nothing to do with any incident in the City the previous evening, they will be down to the mind numbing wickets we are given and people thinking I've got better things to do than waste another day on watching a Mike Hunt masterclass in killing County cricket.

Of the 5 people I as with yesterday 4 decided not to go today and with the amount of ale we consumed yesterday in the ground and the Tavern after, watching the Cup Final, that is an awful lot of revenue our Lord's and masters have lost.

It's Mick- not Mike! (but you knew that, didn't you?)

There used to be an Anglia weatherman called Michael Hunt- and he always had to be introduced as Michael Hunt- never Mike.

Till one day they had a rookie newsreader- and she read out what was on the autocue-

'And here's Mike Hunt with the weather'

It can't have been helpful for the attendance that the India v Pakistan match was taking place, as I imagine that many potential spectators would have much preferred watching that match on TV (or even travelling to Edgbaston) to coming to Lord's. Often, Middlesex's matches are attended by a decent amount of Asian people, but despite making an effort to look out for any, I think I only saw about one or two.

Lower Mound and I walked past Mick Hunt before play started, so I said to Lower Mound that I know of a few people who would happily give Hunt a piece of their mind if they were ever face-to-face with him!
