Having glanced through the posts. Revenuewise in 2016. the outgrounds all reported a plus for MX.

MTS 4days + T20, 8 thou. (weather unhelpful). Radlett 50 overs, 16 thou, Richmond a T20, 31 thou and Uxbridge a T20, 20 thou.

Alternative suggested Southgate. They indicated in 2008 that they were no longer interested in staging first class games. A window of three weeks was required.

The match fee was unacceptable to them and they said they wanted all revenues. Which MX declined.

Some kind of compromise presumably was reached after, as a 4day match was staged versus Leicestershire in 2009 match drawn and a T20 in 2011 versus Somerset match tied.

This I seem to recall, was Ryan Maclaren's finest hour, requiring 19 off the last over, he clobbered 3 sixes to level, but was caught trying a repeat.

One also needs to be aware of the Graves Lords franchise which kicks off in 2020, to be known as Norf London. MX and ESX combined though players will be auctioned/bought from anywhere.

A six week period is required. During that period the counties will play 50 over cricket, in our case and the other seven main grounds, at outgrounds. So be careful what you wish for...

And chunky, 430 miles distant. Since mid July we have copped a lotta rain around here. The deluge on Wednesday afternoon at Gatting Way would have stopped play anywhere.

The water table was unusually high for the time of year, so any extra did nt help that.. No water penetrated the wicket/pitch. It was the soaked outfield that was the stopper.

Anyway with a brief cessation on Thurs night, we were able to add 4 bonus points thanks to with the bat Simmo and the Watford Wall. The excellent bowling unit did the rest.
