George Bailey plum lbw to Jeetan following a shocking attempt at a reverse-sweep... Hants looking beaten to me.

Well, for the gag to work, it would have to be Paddington, wouldn't it?

Unless he's going to Vancouver, then yes!

Sounds like Somerset have got a 'suspended sentence' for the pitch.

Any repeat in next 12 months will incur a points penalty, so they can't carry on like this.

Except, Chunky, that - by definition - this is the first pitch that we've received a below average grade for within the past 12 months - despite producing numerous turning tracks over that time.

I don't know whether this track turned even more than the other ones or whether this has been done because this was an important game.

So, whilst it's true that you won't see another track in TA1 that looks like this one, I wouldn't rule out other dry surfaces that will turn - as, for example, the track for the last game vs Lancs.

Hants appear to be batting out draw. Let's hope Jeetan can bowl his overs quickly. This time loss could be Hants saviour

Eleven wickets to spin on day one is 'excessive spin on day one' in anyone's books, something a few posters on Grockles seem to have missed when comparing scores in other matches in this round, and what happened on days 2-4.

Day one clearly broke the rules, but Somerset would have known is advance you only get a public warning for the first offence, so went ahead, and did it anyway.

let's stop with this pitch inspectors stuff, might as well get Inspector Clueso in or Morse to have a look.
The wider view is this has been a dreadful season.
The forum bun fight will be feisty and get there early as I have a funny feeling it's going to be busy.

Small margins.

Worth pointing out we were only 3 points away from 4th place, which would be acceptable.

Finish 7th and everyone should be sacked.

You can choose any example you want, from arrow man, to rain at Uxbridge, to failing to make Essex follow on, and other examples as well, but if just one went in our favour, we'd be alright.

Still awaiting Warwickshire/Hampshire result (but hopes fading) Here is table.

Sack everyone for a couple of points? Not me

That hour lost this morning crucial. I'm nearly home. By the time I walk through front door our fate will be sealed.

Not much time now. If Warwickshire get a few overs at Crane and Edwards, they'll have every chance. But do they even care?

The way Warwickshire have played the four days they do care but that doesn't guarantee anything.
