All four Middlesex players have been selected for the match v Namibia.

In the 2016 edition, Namibia finished 7th, which was one place behind England and ahead of the likes of South Africa and New Zealand, which made them the top associate team and gave them automatic qualification for 2018.

In 2016, a few members of England’s squad entered the tournament having already played 1st XI county cricket. However the generation of 2018 has less experience, which makes it little surprise that four teams (India, Australia, Pakistan and South Africa) have shorter odds to win the tournament.

Regardless of where each team finishes in their group and whether they lose a knockout match, each team will be guaranteed six matches, as there will be play-offs to determine where each team will be deemed to have finished in the tournament.

Bangladesh also beat Canada in today's matches.

England v Bangladesh on Sky tonight from 21.30 GMT.

One of the things that was mentioned in the last match is that Jack Davies is a relative of the Glamorgan keeper Hadyn Davies. I can't remember now if they said grandson, or Great grandson (could well be the latter, as Hadyn Davies was born in 1912).

One thing is certain- a keeper with a batting average of 13 wouldn't be tolerated today, but in those days you picked your best keeper (plus averages all tended to be lower because of uncovered wickets).

Savin Perera has spoken to ICC’s website about various things. He is keen to play against Sri Lanka, where he lived for 13 of his 18 years, and against whom England would have played in a warm-up match were it not for the match being rained-off. However, the chances of the two teams meeting in this tournament are looking uncertain, as Sri Lanka lost their opening match v Afghanistan. That result seems like an upset, although the 2016 tournament saw Afghanistan finish above Zimbabwe, South Africa and New Zealand, and the way the country is progressing at cricket means that any results like this could be seen as commonplace in a few year’s time.

However, the main story of the round of matches which took place overnight was South Africa's Jiveshan Pillay been given out obstructing the field v West Indies.

Correction- Hadyn Davies is Jack Davies' Great Uncle.

2 wickets already for Ethan Bamber.

Bangla 17-3 off 6 overs.

Bambi claims a third.

A bit fortuitous I think. Might have been an inside edge, but got LBW decision.

According to Rob Key,n Ethan Bamber's dad is an actor, David Bamber, who has played Hitler in a film.

Actually, looking at the ears, it has to be true!
