Ryan Patel destroyed Somerset with 3.5 overs, 2 maidens, 5 runs, 6 wickets and an economy rate of 1.30! (that's right 6-5) to reduce Somerset to 180 all out.

Congratulations to the Surrey all-rounder Ryan Patel upon a remarkable bowling performance. He has now taken 8 wickets from 8 first-class matches.

Has anybody noticed that Patel runs his hands through his substantial locks after every delivery. Just saying!

James Anderson does that a lot too.

Might be hair gel, transfers on to hand, transfers on to ball.

But, just like eating sweeties, I don't see how you can say it is against the law.

Lancashire had a chance to achieve a target of 602 v Worcestershire at New Road, as they were 325-4, but they were eventually all out for 399 despite Keaton Jennings’ 177.

Warwickshire had a chance to achieve a target of 519 v Kent at Tunbridge Wells, as they were 304-1, but they were eventually all out for 445. The bad news for Middlesex is that we would have probably preferred Warwickshire to have won, as Kent are in the promotion race. Also, Harry Podmore and Joe Denly put in great contributions with bat and ball during the match. The good news for Middlesex is that we continue our position as the holders of the County Champonship’s highest successful run chase, when we achieved our target of 502 v Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge in 1925.

The Worcs v Lancs match saw the first use of a concussion substitute in county cricket, with Danny Lamb replacing Joe Mennie in the Lancs side. These substitutions are supposed to be like-for-like, but whereas Mennie is a fast bowler, Lamb is an all-rounder. The definition of ‘like-for-like’ is open to interpretation, as some bowlers have little batting ability and others are handy with the bat, while some batsmen offer little in the way of bowling and/or fielding while others do.

There was also a concussion substitute at Guildford on Friday as Max Waller was diverted from his homeward journey from Radlett to replace Jack Leach after the on site 12th man Roelof van der Merwe was not deemed a like-for-like replacement (his 165 v your Mexican friends in the RLODC last year obviously carried more weight than his CC average being below Jack's both this season and last!)

A shame there is no live video stream of our game against kent, but Scarbados is excelling itself.

I saw some advance publicity saying the were going to try four cameras, rather than the one or two everywhere else. Two of the cameras seem to be exclusively for 'crowd shots' at the end of each over, but, (and this is the good bit) at least one of the cameras trained on the action has the ability to pan out, and follow the ball to the boundary, AND action replays. Only criticism is like Leicester the camera isn't behind the bowlers arm, but this is taking internet streaming to a whole new level.

Worth tuning into (turn off sound and listen to Kent/Middle commentary)

Looks like a big crowd at Scarbados too. Who said no one watches championship Cricket? Far more people there than Glammy get for a 50 over match.

Is it just me or has the White Rose Forum died in the heat? The revived and rescued Corridor of Uncertainty is still going though.

Just you, Adelaide.

WRF has many more posters, and posts.

Sometimes they have logging in problems, when some say they can't access the site, but I've never had a problem.

(maybe you are getting through to the defunct version, as they changed hoster a few months back?)

Hopefully this will link to live feed of Yorkshire game-

[yorkshireccc.com]

Worth watching for a while, as it is easily the best online stream so far.

Possibly a first (?) Yorkshire awarded 5 penalty runs because of Stoneman's reaction when given out on 9, plus 'something' that happened yesterday (possibly dissent, I don't think there is any suggestion of ball tampering), so you can now gift your opponent runs for bad behaviour.

I did wonder.

It is entirely possible there may be more than one racist Yorkshire supporter.

Chunky, when Stoneman was out,he got to dressing room throwing his bat around.
Was told he took frustrations out on a door and damaged it,not sure what he did though.
I have yorkie friends at game.

Leicestrshire have now won 4 Championship matches out of 5 after demolishing Kent. The one that (only just) got away was our one-wicket victory.

It's nice to see someone doing worse than us at T20:

Essex 135-9 (20 overs)
Somerset 136-0 (11.2 overs)

[Edited]

No way would Middlesex ever be beaten by 10 wickets...
