Its becoming increasingly obvious that this team/squad has gone stale, they need a new voice, new ideas, new direction, too much deadwood around and the continual picking of Rayner is bizarre. Why not try Ravi or Sowts? Could either do any worse??

I sympathise with your frustration Brears but I am sure that Mr Scott and his coaching staff have been working towards a resolution to the current issues.

There are probably sound reasons why certain selections are made. I would ideally enter a match with a strong spin partnership which would balance the bowling attack. It can be tempting to over select the number of seamers. If only we had full possession of the facts sometimes.

We must get behind Richard Scott as he continues to rebuild the current squad. The nucleus of a strong and successful team sometimes takes time to develop.

We were Champions 2 seasons ago so we shouldn't be having to rebuild the current squad - we should have rebuilt from a position of strength after we won the Championship - something good management would have done.
It was obvious from the start of the season that the 'old guard' had lost interest once they had their championship medals in their back pockets and just went through the motions. It was also obvious from the Essex 'follow on' shambles that the management were more concerned with preserving our unbeaten run than they were winning games.
If we had picked up a decent batsman from another county and an oversees specialist batsmen/all rounder last season we would not have been relegated - remember despite all the excuses such as Arrowgate/over rate/Uxbridge pitch etc. it was a lack of batting points that cost us.

Correct BBTC. To recall. 1 at Essex. 0 at Southport and Taunton and Lords v Warwick. So one out of a possible twenty.

And according to T.Fozzie. Track at Lords v Glos flattened in last two days which suggests little for seam, so a second spinner Ravi or Nathan should be employed.

Under the present hierarchy, an option that won't be taken.
