I am particularly looking forward to this match, as I have never seen Middlesex play a 1st XI match at Radlett, as all of our previous matches there have been on weekdays. However, I once saw us play a Second Eleven Trophy semi-final v Lancashire there in 2012.

With seven matches still to play, we should have plenty of time to compensate for yesterday’s defeat to Essex. However, as four of our last six matches will be away, and only the top three qualify for the knockout stages, we can ill-afford defeat on Sunday. Kent will also be looking to compensate for a heavy defeat they suffered yesterday, when Sussex won by seven wickets at Hove.

It will be interesting to see whether we make any changes from yesterday. Nathan Sowter should really be in our side after the success he enjoyed in Twenty20 cricket in 2017 and with ball and bat for our 2nd XI so far in 2018, although it shouldn’t come at the expense of Ravi Patel after his three wickets and economy of 4.10 yesterday. James Harris, Max Holden and George Scott could come into contention. Robbie White has started the season well for the 2nd XI. They will probably all get a go once we can no longer qualify!

Selection will probably be influenced by whether the match is played on a fresh pitch or whether the same one as yesterday is used. The highlights of yesterday’s match suggests that another pitch two away from that used for the Essex match was being readied, so it looks like the match will be played on fresh pitch.

Middlesex have named a 14-man squad for this match consisting of Steven Finn (captain), Tom Barber, Hilton Cartwright, Stephen Eskinazi, James Franklin, Nick Gubbins, James Harris, Tom Helm, Max Holden, Eoin Morgan, Ravi Patel, John Simpson (wicket-keeper), Nathan Sowter and Paul Stirling.

Apart from Sowter, who must have a good chance of playing, I think that everyone who was in our squad for Thursday’s match v Essex at Radlett is included, so it seems unlikely they our line-up will be greatly different from Thursday.

On the Radlett track both Sowter and Ravi should play. Bit imaginative, so probably wont.

As ever with MX. A must win game.

I'd leave out Cartwright, Franklin and Barber.

Is there a link for live footage or are we reliant on the audio only?

Thanks,

313/9 from our 50 overs.

Stirling 125
Gubbins 23
Eskinazi 31
Morgan 50
Cartwright quack
Simpson 9
Franklin not out 29
Sowter 2
Helm 4
Finn 9
Patel not out 1

Extras 30.

Franklin's three boundries off the last three balls could prove crucial.

Kent 224/6, require 90 off the last 10 overs.
65 partnership these two in.

Helm with three wickets but expensive,
Patel, Franklin and Cartwright with one each.

Kent are now 7 down, Cartwright with the run out off Helm's bowling.
Kuhn for them is still in on 89.

Kuhn's gone, bowled by Helm.
Surely the end for Kent.
