Middlesex needed a couple of players to convert a start into a decent score. Stevie Eskinazi did so, but we will probably need at least one of Hilton Cartwright and John Simpson to continue their innings if we are win. Well done to all three of those players on their innings, and to Ravi Patel on giving the team some breathing space at the start of today.

James Harris, Steven Finn and Tim Murtagh all have batting capability, but I would feel more comfortable if Cartwright and Simmo get all or most of the remaining runs we require.

Now I can go to the Taylor Swift concert in a good mood!

Well done to James Harris and Tim Murtagh!

It's a funny old game.

Cartwright could have been bowled on 0 (technically he was, but the bails didn't come off) and then we would have all been on his case.

Still just in the promotion race.

I expect that some of us will still be celebrating this memorable victory in thirty years time. Self-discipline with a resilient spirit has won the day.

A wonderful result. Well done to all the players and well done Fraser and Scott.

Let us hope this is the result that turns our season around.

Middle Middle Middle.

The averages tell a tale (you'll have to scroll down past the Royal London averages to get to the championship averages).

A number of batsmen and bowlers still have what can only be called dreadful averages.

Murtagh and Harris taking all the wickets. Apart from them only Cartwright has more than 7 wickets.

Quite so, Chunky.

The second innings turnaround mustn't be allowed to deflect from the inadequacies of the first two days.

Today's thrilling and unexpected victory should be appreciated as a respite from the frustration of some of our recent performances. It is a sign that the various issues are being addressed.

There was a video on Twitter this morning of the wicket, cracks the width of Grand Canyon comes to mind!
A 5th day wicket as well.

Must admit, hold my hands up,I didn't see the victory coming. After days 1 and 2,it was furthest in my mind.
So,well done lads, great victory and proved me wrong!
The beauty that is known as county cricket. As we were discussing last night..Sport,you can never predict what will happen.
Let's hope this springboards us for more victories...onward we go..BATTLE

I decided yesterday afternoon that I would go to Leicester if we only had 2 wickets or fewer down so when Dawid's wicket fell I decided not to go. Now wish I had gone. At least I had the stream to watch for the final hour. Very exciting. Looking forward to visiting Canterbury on Monday now with my Kent supporting work colleague.

Stunning win from a poor position. I didnt think we'd manage that this morning. Whilst today's effort was sublime, dismissing leicestershire for 182 in the second innings ultimately turned the game in our favour. Really don't understand why they didn't bowl more spin but just so happy that we did it. Let's kick on from here.
