Thanks for report, Lower Mound.

I agree James Franklin shouldn't play again. It's nothing personal- he's no better, and no worse than the others, but this is the last year of his contract, and I can't believe he'll be back next year.

We can't qualify for quarter-finals. and, using the Compton logic, Franklin must now be considered part of the past, and not the present.

Pleeeease give Lace, Andersson and Bamber a couple of games. Even if we lose (we will) at least it would be nice to see some new faces in the side.

Vettori didn't seem too clear on this in his post match interview. He thought we 'might' go down that road, but didn't seem to sure.

Well Dan (who isn't the man) is meant to be in charge, so he should have been able to answer that question on the spot, so I don't know who he has to consult with first (Morgan, Malan, Fraser?)

A good report Leon and the game I watched.

Concur with your remarks on James Franklin. Too slow for this form of cricket.

A number of singles he took Scott and Fuller would have made into two's.

Fozzie (Tony) came up with an interesting idea. Follow the Mexicans and open with your most experienced batsmen ie Stirlo and Morgan.

The general idea being they face the maximum number of balls (potentially).

My top four with a touch more beef would be: Stirlo, Morgan, Malan,Fuller.

Incidentally Fozzie (Tony) ain't a T20 fan.

And Leon. From memory 20 for 4 our worst powerplay I think.

So along with Glamorgan's Rory Smith. Two records set. As you say a very healthy crowd on a hot day.

Andersson should be given a shot at opening with Stirlo. Be nice to get through 6 overs without a wicket falling.

And James Fuller was recruited as a white ball player and should be batting above eight.

I saw a report on the Tendulkar/Middlesex academy from OMT on the lunchtime news. The scoreboard appeared to be reading "10-9". I do hope that's not a prediction for one of the remaining matches.

I can't see the logic in bringing in players for the future (white and Scott) while simultaneously bringing in James Franklin.

You have made several worthwhile and logical points. At least, we would be adapting to the format.
