Middlesex visit Hove for the final group match of a disappointing Vitality t20 Blast campaign.

Disappointing is one way of putting it.

I've no idea if Kevin Hand has been given a tip off, but on commentary he gave an eleven that didn't include anyone likely to play in the championship match that starts on Sunday.

If true, that would mean Lace, Andersson and Bamber getting an outing, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I would be feeling very optimistic, though only if I was a Sussex supporter.

Let's just give the seconds a run out tomorrow, along with the first 3 club members as well.
Rest the players whom are available for the county game.
I remain optimistic about selection policy.

I remain unoptimistic about selection policy.Square pegs in round holes are favoured.

Plus it will be interesting to see whether there are any faux pax on Sunday.

Surely we can't expect Harris to bowl another 4 overs to add to the 3.2 he bowled yesterday. The poor lad will be too exhausted to play on Sunday. Over to you Jonathan.

Well, lets hope that Andersson and Bamber get to make their debuts.

At least if that happens it is two young players to get behind for the whole match.

That would add a bit of interest to an otherwise totally uninteresting match.

Well, I look forward to watching Eskinazi and Simpson bat with all the rapture of John Betjeman awaiting a match involving Miss Joan Hunter-Dunn and her best friend.

We won the toss, and bowl.

Martin Andersson makes his debut.

Franklin keeps his place.

I suppose the only consultation we have is when we lose we know we would have stopped the Mexicans qualifying for the knock out stages of the competition!!

Looks like Nathan has put the brakes on.
We could well restrict them to less than 240!!

It is great news that Martin Andersson finally makes his Middlesex debut, although I am sure that he and many others would have preferred his debut to have come in better circumstances for the team.

Dawid Malan’s heavily-bruised finger has ruled him out of this match, but hopefully he will return for Sunday, otherwise we will be close to struggling to fill our batting positions due to Paul Stirling being away with Ireland and Robbie White having an injured shoulder. What I mean by 'close to struggling' is that if there is any further news of players being unavailable, then it could become a struggle.

I lot of supporters would have liked our line-up to include 11 different players to that who will play on Sunday. Of tonight’s line-up, I would say that about half are highly likely to play on Sunday, while the other half (aside from Stirlo) will all be in contention if there are any unforeseen injuries/call-ups/loss of form/surprises with the Wantage Road pitch.

With Sussex being 146-1 in the 13th over, I am pessimistic about our hopes of being set a target that we can achieve.

Does anyone know why Andersson has only bowled one over so far?
