We take on MCC Young cricketers in a three day championship match starting at Southgate today.

MCC YC include Bradley Erasmus (who was once part of our age group sides) and Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin.

Middlesex played two Second Eleven Twenty20 matches v MCC Young Cricketers at Finchley today, although it seems that our official website only shows that scorecard from the first match, which we won by six wickets with 19 balls to spare. Our Facebook and Twitter pages both say that we won the second match too.

It is great that Stephen Eskinazi scored 48 not out in the first match. It was interesting that Nick Gubbins bowled two overs and took 2-11 in the first match, and then scored 34, so maybe he can add to our 1st XI’s many bowling options.

2nd scorecard here (got it via MCC site, as our site got a bit confused, and hasn't got it)

Arjun appears to be a quick given he opened the bowling in both innings...that surprised me!

It can't be easy being Sachin Tendulkar's son.

Cricinfo says he is 19.

Not sure how many international hundreds daddy had by that stage, but Arjun will never leave a bigger footprint on the game than his dad did.

19 test and 23 odi by the time Arjun was born. Agreed, it's a hard act to follow!

Today's two T20 scorecards here-

Max John has had a good four days against Kent, with scores of 44 and 52 in the 3 day match, and 40 not out in the T20 he played in.

We played two T20 matches against Club Cricket Conference today.

First scorecard-

Unfortunately I can't get the second scorecard, as for several weeks now whenever there are two matches on the same day the official club site just repeats the first scorecard when you click on the second match. I was able to get MCCYC and Kent scorecards via their sites, but that trick hasn't worked with Club Cricket Conference game, so I guess who did what will remain a mystery.

Given the ground, it's good that Southgate captained one side!

More seriously, I can't find either scorecard on cricketarchive!

Dan Lincoln made 118 in the second match, but even the club's twitter feed is unable to provide a link to the second scorecard.

Robbie White has suffered the rare distinction of being dismissed twice in the same innings!

First time c Wilson b Adair 1

Second time b McBrine 4

And now Max Holden is having a second go, to see if he can improve on his first effort of 0.

Okay- It's a friendly, so they can do whatever the captains agree to.

I wonder if the innings will be over when the 10th wicket falls, or maybe we can carry on and declare on something like 330-15.

Sort of thing we used to do in the playground at school. If Binns Minor was out for a duck, let him go in again. I know its only a friendly, but for crying out loud.

As it was only a two day match I suppose the agreements was 'one innings each' and Ireland probably wanted to be set a decent target so that their batsmen would get a reasonable work out on Friday. On that basis it looks like some Middlesex batsmen were given a second chance, in order to give Ireland's batsmen something to chase. From a Nottinghamshire point of view, it's a shame the County Championship and T20 don't have the same 'rules'

Paul Stirling was added to the Ireland side on Friday, so I assume part of the agreement was 'Middlesex bat all day Thursday, and Stirlo can play T20 v Essex, provided you let him join the two day game on Friday'.

As it turned out yesterday was a wash out. Joe Cracknell was stand out for Middlesex with 105 not out.
