Pollock up for Twenty20s
Pollock, who retired from International and South African domestic cricket earlier this year is currently playing in the Indian Premier League for the Mumbai Indians and will be heading for Durham at the beginning of June.
Durham fans will hope that Pollock can help bring Twenty20 success, something that has so far looked hard to come by despite the huge successes of last season.
Pollock played over 100 tests and 300 one day internationals for South Africa. His Twenty20 record includes 12 Internation Twenty20 matches, he has a high score of 59 and best bowling figures of 3/28.
In his only IPL appearance so far Pollock hit 28 from 12 balls and only conceded 17 runs from his four overs, taking no wickets. Despite a good performace from Pollock, Mumbai were beaten by Bangalore by five wickets.
With Pollock having retired from South African cricket he will appear for Durham as a Kolpak player alongside the one overseas player who will be Albe Morkel for the Twenty20 cup.
