England's South Africa Tour Suffers Fixture Delay

A leaked email has revealed that Cricket South Africa are accepting bids for the right to stage International Cricket in the country, meaning the traditional new years test at Newlands, in Cape Town, could well be at risk in the future.

In a move that would not only anger traveling parties from England for the upcoming four test tour this winter, it will also outrage locals, who flock to the ground for the new year test, as well as the 'Pink ODI' at the Wanderers.

The email from CSA's Chief Finanacial Officer, has outlined a ploy whereby cricket unions in partnership with local municipalities would bid for the right to host international matches.

It was discovered by the influencial IOL in South Africa, who are one of the Country's leading mult-platform content companies.

England supporters have been waiting patiently for news of both the South Afircan tour and the one that takes place in November, prior to that, in New Zealand.

This news will not go down well with the travelling thousands, in that news of the planned schedule release for next season's international fixtures are having to be delayed due to this decision.

We can't see there being a change at this late stage, especially given the very lucrative nature of any England tour, why would they put at risk, some 10,000 England supporters flying over to the most popular tourist destination in the county?

We liken this scenario to the ECB some years ago, getting Counties to bid for the staging of International cricket, it looks to be the case of trying to squeeze that little bit more finance from the holding venues.

Who would not want to host a South Africa vs England test match, with thousands of touring supporters?
