West Indies Tour of India 2018-19

By Indian Cricket Fever
September 24 2018

Once upon a time a visit by the West Indies would have elicited excitement and bit of trepidation as Indian fans would have looked forward to welcoming bowlers with Pace like Fire and batsmen who played with Calypso Flair and who could score both fast and big.  Nowadays it is more likely indifference and a bit of disdain that the fans are likely to feel, especially with the WICB denying the most exciting West Indies players, the likes of Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, etc. the chance to play Test cricket.  Anyway, the two sides are scheduled to play Two Tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is.  The complete fixtures are as follows:

At least BCCI is giving the Windies a warm up game... Sad to see it's only 2 days instead of at least 3...

Here is the Board President's XI squad... full of some very good upcoming talent...

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked the squad for Board President’s XI that will play a two-day warm-up match against the visiting Windies side in Vadodara starting on September 29th 2018, before the two-match Paytm Test series.

Board President’s XI: Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari, Karun Nair (captain), Shreyas Iyer, Ankit Bawne, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Jalaj Saxena, Saurabh Kumar, Basil Thampi, Avesh Khan, K Vignesh, Ishan Porel

Predictably India won the series 2-0 with two crushing wins one by an innings over 200 runs and the next by a slightly better 10 wickets...
