The Amazing Mr. Jaddu

By Gaurang
October 14 2018

Once called a non-wicket taking bowler by the legendary Erapalli Prasanna early in his career, Jadeja now has 185 wickets in 39 Tests to Prasanna's own 189 in 49 Tests... So even legends can be fooled.  Look at his numbers and compare them to all left arm bowlers pace or spin who have taken 100 or more Test wickets...

You find he has the HIGHEST number of wickets at the 39 Test stage.... and in case you are wondering where those who have more career Test wickets than him were in their 39th Test compared to the 185 wickets that Jadeja has scalped... Here is the list of ALL TIME GREATS with more wickets than him who TRAIL BEHIND HIM...in descending order of number of wickets in their 39th Test...

In recent series against West Indians he had batting average of 100 and bowling average of under 20.

With multiple triple centuries at First Class level...he has the ability to average 40+ with bat... under 30 with ball a group so rare that there is NO member....yet

Just slammed 178 for Saurashtra...his 10th First Class century... after taking 4-50 odd...in second round of Ranji Trophy...

The guy is a one-man team...smiling smiley

Followed up his first innings heroics by helping Saurashtra win the match outright... first picking up 3 more wickets then guiding them home with a crucial 40 odd on a crumbling pitch... NICE!

5-127 at the MCG. Nathan Lyon only managed 1-150. So now has 12 wickets in last two Tests overseas.

Follows it up with a smashing 81... at SCG.... Mr. Jaddu continues to show why his name should be penciled in among the top 3 each time India select a Test team...

Four 4s in a Cummins over. He was playing with authority. And his bowling has been good as well.
On field he runs like a bullet. I am surprised by how much faster he is compared to some of the fielders.

Bump in light of his recent heroics...
