Caption Competition No. 3

Where's your tie?
By MTWD Admin
December 15 2011
Here's the caption for next caption competition. The unusual site of a zebra outside the pavillion and later with our England no.1. Feel free to comment on either or both. This will be running till the New Year and Diamond will preside over the result. Good luck

I know that the famous Abbey Road zebra crossing is in St. John's Wood, but I didn't realise it was at Lord's.

Straussie saying: "Never mind, it's an easy mistake to make. You need to get off the 274 from Baker Street at the third stop after Lord's for the Zoo."
Zebra: "If it's as easy as that, why don't you use the bus then?"

Here come de Judge.

Some good efforts this time round, bit of turkey malaise crept in over Christmas I think.

Liked Haringey Racers one about bar-codes but the winner is Adelaide and his zebra asking Straussie how long it takes to qualify for England.

Kev will now be sorting out another caption competition and Adelaide can you contact the mods on whether you want a small prize or the honour of judging the next competition.

Well, that is nice to come back to! I've opted to judge the next one. Funny thing is that when I saw I'd triumphed a few days ago I'd assumed it was the confuse-a-Hansen which had done the biz!

My internet time is infrequent at the moment for family reasons, hence this tardy response.

For the Caption Competition no. 3, I felt that I had half a chance of winning it (which is a lot better than the zero chance I tend to have of winning caption competitions), and I made two entries which I felt were potentially funny. Indeed, as soon as it was announced that the photo would be of Andrew Strauss with a zebra, the thought crossed my mind that it would be funny to say "Andrew Strauss unveils his new stripe bowler", which was a play-on with the term 'strike bowler'.

However, it looks like for the Final Caption Competition it is back to normal for me, as I can't see myself coming up with anything funny. Nonetheless, I am certain I will enjoy reading the suggestions about what is being said in the photos, so good luck to anyone participating.
