I found the answers to a lot of the photos which had originally appeared on Cricinfo by clicking on "View a Printer Friendly version of this Story", right-clicking on the image to find information on the photo, typing one of the numbers which appears in the URL into Google and adding "site:espncricinfo" on to the end of that search, all of which I know sounds complicated! Right-clicking on photo 1 and copying the URL leads to a URL of
www.espncricinfo.com/inline/content/image/236488.html?alt=1, while clicking on "open image" or "view image" (depending on the browser used) leads to a URL of
static.cricinfo.com/db/PICTURES/CMS/58900/58957.1.jpg. Performing searches such as "
236488 site:espncricinfo.com" or
58957 site:espncricinfo.com" all lead to images of Nigel Ross, so clearly that was the correct answer. I did the same process for the other Cricinfo photos.
For the photos which had previously appeared on MTWD, I found a lot of them either on
a gallery of our squad from 2005 or by Googling part of the URL, like I did for the Cricinfo photos.
I was either certain or fairly sure that I knew what Mike Selvey, Vintcent van der Bijl, Scott Styris, John Carr, Keith Dutch, Ian Gould, Danny Evans, Josh Davey, Steve Nikitaris and Simon Hughes looked like.
Of the photos which did not originate from Cricinfo or MTWD and of people I didn't already know, I identifed the photo of Dion Nash when I found a player matching his description in the 1995/96
Annual Review and I somehow stumbled upon the photo of Larry Gomes while confirming whether a previous answer would be correct (I forgot which one).
While searching for the answer to the photo of Nigel Felton, I discovered that by visiting
images.google.co.uk, clicking on the photo of the camera and pasting the URL, I could find a website where the photo had previously appeared, and that website could then tell me who the photo was of. Pasting the URL of Felton's photo lead me
a page on Northamptonshire's website which said the photo was of Felton. I went through the same process for the final picture and was directed to
Peter Wellings' Cricinfo page. Had I discovered that process earlier, then I wouldn't have struggled with the photos of Nash and Gomes!
The reason why I did not submit my answers until as late as possible was to make it look like I found it difficult, as it would have looked arrogant to submit my answers shortly after the questions were set.
Lower Mound did not help me with any of the photos.
