Hooray. It's another Olllie Ollie day

Only 3 Ollie Rayners

Knowing it was a sunny day first task my was to find a pair of tailored shorts and a sleeveless Middlesex shirt in case I wanted to enter our Room. I arrive at the ground and note how much the bag searches are more user friendly.  On the way in I feel priviledged entering this arena.

Our first aim is for another bonus point. It’s 346 -9 when Scott out for 55. With one short of bonus point a good drive by Helm four all the way, deflected, fielded by the stumps with Bamber not backing up. I hope we don’t fail to go up by one point!

Leicestershire reply Helm opening spell was unplayable spraying it all over the place. Just needed to get one on stumps, which he did to trap Javid.

There was an attritional period without any likely wickets. Three cryptic crosswords were flying around more than Tom Helm’s bowling.  Have a go at this.  Cricket side the best ever? That’s public knowledge (2.6).  PM me if you know the answer.

The 2nd wicket stand seemed to take them safely to lunch until Harry who previously seemed ineffectual got one to move back late and clip Azad’s off stump. It’s honours even at lunch 66-2.

After lunch Bamber had two strong LB shouts turned down. Turkey Mark quote “all Ollie has done in this game is bowl one over before lunch” to which Posh Margaret replies  “all we need is Ollie to take a blinding slip catch. “ Next ball helped Ethan get his reward in this way spectacular diving catch at 2nd slip to remove the dangerous Horton.

Cosgrove soon after snared. There was then talks on whether we would enforce the follow on. If only we had the chance Dearden who was favourite for headline material and Ackerman batting without any alarms to tea. There was a feeling of gloom and doom. Our season is over.

After tea Ollie putting a stranglehold on the run rate, More importantly he removed Dearden and Ackerman, thanks to an amazing Eski catch. He then held a stunning low down caught and bowled to dismiss Taylor. Helm had Mike caught behind final ball of day.  Evening session was Leicester 23-4.

Now I am leaving feeling high. Thanks Ollie for your 4 wickets your two amazing catches and reviving our season.
