On his part, Sachin didn't disappoint the fans, as he guided the Mumbai Indians to a comfortable win against Kolkata Knight Riders last night.
With 156 runs to win, the opening pair of Sachin and Shikar Dhawan put up a partnership of 61, before Shikar got out for 23.
The platform for an easy chase, however, was already put up.
Chris Gayle scored a good half-century for KKR. The pitch however didn't seem to be quite suitable for the batsmen, hence they couldn't post a good fighting total on board.
The Mumbai Indians were clinical in their overall display, except for some lousy fielding, especially by wicket-keeper Tare who kept on fumbling quite a few times.
In the end, it was an easy win for the Mumbai Team, who now tops the table with 6 points in their 4 matches.
KKR is languishing at fifth position on the points table with only 4 points from 5 matches. This was their third defeat in a row.
Sachin was declared Man of the Match for his 48 ball 71 runs.
Mumbai Indians next play Chennai Super Kings on Thursday, March 25th, again at their home turf, CCI. Match starts at local time 8pm.
