Sameer provides us with his article based around a 10 point plan for the grooming of talent in Pakistan. He identifies the measures the PCB ned to adopt to instill a more professional approach in Pakistani cricketing circles.
WAY TO MOVE FORWARD.
pakistan's young team have lost the series against india on there home soil.
but it is not the end of the world.the authroities should sit together and see
where we went wrong instead of putting all the mud on each other.here i am giving some points where we should improve.
1)give grounds to schools,colleges and universities.also give them qualified coaches.because that's the age where players can work on their techniques.they should be thaught the basics.
because once a player past his twenties than it becomes difficult to remove errors in his game as at that time the mistakes becomes habit.
2)prepare good sporting pitches at every level from school to FC cricket.have some variations in the pitches.prepare dusty tracks as well as green tops.as our players are not very good players of spin and swing bowling.only than our players can improve if they play on these pitches at home
3)players also should be more professional.physio should make the fitness programme for each player if a player failed to reach the fitness level.than don't select him.
4)put more emphasis on 4 day games .
5)PCB have said that they can't afford to give central contracts to 25 cricketers.but at least they should invite best 25 players at NCA.groom the young players there.
6)we have NCA(national cricket academy) in lahore which have facilities of international class.but its not all about facilities.there have to be good qualified coaches and physio there.who should work on the boys.
include former stars in the coaching staff at NCA.also invite foreign coaches and former players from other countries also.
7)have some links with cricket academies of australlia,south africa ,india etc.
play matches with there teams.also send the best players to their academies.our young players did not have much experience playing in different conditions as wickets in pakistan are very similar.
this will definitely help them.
8)be a bit more professional.made data of all players with the help of computer analyst.it will help the players in seeing their weak points.
9)our under 19,under 23 and A team have to be a bit more active.organize more tours to australlia,SA,eng etc.not to places like UAE.
10)no compromise on discipline.
the authorities should work on these points.as international cricket is not all about the talent.its about how you use the talent.
