By Fwdshortleg January 31 2008 Added to this weight of opinion is the considered judgment of Judge Hansen who has been studiedly critical of Symonds (by blaming Symonds for the fracas), and by dismissing the key votaries of Ponting - his men who gave evidence - in a sense saying they basically lied at the first hearing.
The reason being they appeared not be within earshot of the fracas purely based on video evidence. In fact the closest to the incident was Sachin Tendulkar, whose word the Match Referee chose to completely ignore.Sachin didn’t lie and say he didn’t hear Bhajji say the dreaded “M” word, he honestly said he didn’t hear anything, unlike Mathew Hayden and Michael Clarke, whom the Hon. Judge Hansen hinted were lying through their teeth, when they claimed to hear things from further away than Tendulkar was. After this the Council of the Australian Cricket Tribe (Cricket Australia) will be burning the mid-night oil and looking for a replacement. Ponting will not be allowed to carry on as the Head Spearman and Chief Sledger of the Team Australia. Cricket Australia should have realized by now that what the Elders of the Tribe called Australian are saying is that Ponting is not a Suitable candidate for being Head Spearman and Chief Sledger because this man is an arrogant ass and an idiot! The leaders of the Council of the Australian Cricket Ttribe have no option but to listen to the Elders. What might happen is that the Elders of the Council of Australian Cricket Tribe will after the ODIs quietly have a word and it will be done with enough face saved on all sides.
Whatever the mechanism - after this series of events Ponting is Toast. He has to be Toast. It would say a lot about the Tribe called Australian if they continue with this dolt as the Head Spearman and Chief Sledger of their Cricket Team.
