Happier days
Nonetheless the problems run deep, clearly the players, especially Fabregas, do not believe in Wenger's project. Whether Wenger is right or not is no longer the issue, he clearly doesn't have the players behind him. He got them behind him for the Man U game, using the old technique of creating the siege mentality over Stoke; unfortunately you can't repeat that every week.
Wenger has got rid of the head stable boy, now he will have to clear out the stable. He will need help in doing that, who should the new Captain be? Some suggest Fabregas, but sorry you are wrong. Why? Because when the going gets tough the tough get going, and what Fab has done is hide.
Rumours have it that Almunia and Clichy are favourites, I would prefer Clichy he is a warrior. Almunia I am not too sure about, will he keep his place seems to be a bigger issue than should he be captain. Yes he is a great guy, and plays his heart out, but he doesn't always inspire confidence in the defence.
Whoever the new Captain will be, assuming it's true that Gallas has gone, the Kremlin remains silent, and there is an even bigger job to be done. To strengthen a depleted squad, and create unity, whether Wenger can achieve that remains to be seen. Unfortunately for him liberty has been interpreted as license.
