Best Performance: Batting - A toss up between Haydos and Dravid. Both believe they have 'a year left in them'. Please let me know which ear, would love to present it with a tight slap.
Bowling: Anyone from the Aussie camp can take this. A 150 run lead and three wickets to go,yet manage to lose the test. No 1 way to go mates!
Best New comer of the year: Sachin Tendulkar..err..wasn't he born again in Chennai?
Best catch of the year: Has to go to Stanford. He definitely has his Prior-ities right.
Worst drop of the year: Guess..this also has a Prior in it.
Best music: Adam Gilchrist first making sounds on Sachin lying. Then made more sound denying he ever made that statement.
Best Special Effects: Symmo- almost managed to pull it off till one Bhajji ripped the sun cream to expose the truth.
Best Family Drama: Boo Hoo Sree Whoo...this is what "brotherly" affection can do.
Mother of all deliveries: No, nothing to do with the ball, this has go to Lalit Modi for delivering IPL sans much labor pains.
Father of the above: Zee Subash Chandra. He did impregnate Lalit Modi with ICL.
Best Supporting Cast: The Zimbabwe team. Imagine waiting for long to play and when you do, you realize that your pay in the morning was worth bananas and by evening the peel.
Best Director: Has to go to PCB. Given their financial status they have decided to replace all balls with bullets and bats with AK 47.
Best Actor: Only one, Ricky Ponting. Imagine believing your team is No 1 and at the same time you are forced to say after each series "they played better" with a straight face.
Lifetime achievement award: Dada Ganguly. For providing us the steel and those lovely memories, for making Steve Waugh a waiter, for showing us how six packs must start from the throat (long before Bollywood took to this) and finally for enacting the perfect comeback role which puts Gregory Peck Chappel to shame.
Lifetime achievement award 2: Anil Kumble. Since he has a road named after him in Bangalore I choose to keep this award to myself.
