Interestingly on the official ICC website Australia and India are listed as tied at 122 with Australia above India. However if one looks a bit closer Australia have 5756 points from 47 matches while India have 6088 from 50 matches. This gives Australia a rating of 122.47 and India a rating of 122.76.
In the past the ICC and their unofficial mouthpiece the website Cricinfo have touted moves up by certain favored teams that have been based on fractions of a ratings point. However, Australia’s drop to third and India’s move up to second has not merited a mention.
Most 5th graders knows that that 122.47 is rounded to 122 and 122.76 to 123. However apparently the ICC and Cricinfo are filled with folks who don't get this.
Well, we here at Indian Cricket Fever, like to keep the Mandarins and their Mouthpieces honest. So we Congratulate India on regaining the second spot in the ICC ODI ratings and look forward to them following through with Chief Selector Krish Srikkanth’s aim of reaching the No. 1 spot this year.
