Bassetlaw Cricket League AGM 2002
By Paul Barker
November 26 2002
The AGM of the Bassetlaw Cricket League was held at the Valley Comprehensive School at Baulk Lane, Worksop. Opening the meeting Richard Martin the President/Secretary of the League asked for a minutes silence in respect of the loss of several people who have served the league over many years.

These distinguished servants were Mr. Jack Milburn who held the post of Umpires Appointments Secretary from 1976 – 1982, Mr. George Langdale O.B.E. who was President of the League in 1985 and served on the Management Committee from 1968 – 1986 before becoming a Honarary Life Member, Mr. Jack Fidler who served on the Management Committee from 1963 – 1974, Mr. Maurice French who did likewise from 1978 – 1992 and Mr. Eric Adwick who served from 1965 – 2002 being President in 1981 and Chairman from 1991 until his recent bereavement.

In addition to these three other people who have made significant contributions to the league Mr. Keith Wilkinson, Mr. Keith Smith and Mr. Paul Tyndall all passed away over the last twelve months.

Richard Martin then read out the roll-call and only Basford Mill, Cutthorpe, Manton, and South Normanton were shown to be absent and will be subjected to a fine by the League rule 1.5 (viii). Marshalls were also absent but an apology was received with a statement that the person due to attend couldn’t be there because of an injury and that someone else would probably be coming. Unfortunately the replacement failed to show up.

Mr. Martin then offered the annual report of the Management Committee for the year 2002 - click here
